Every year I fee like HUT becomes a second job. Next year I’m going pure theme team so I don’t feel the need to grind. My idea to make theme teams viable is, for every 5 players you have from the same team they go up one overall in every stat. With 20 roster spots you could potentially have every player 4 overall higher which would make theme teams viable. They would need to do what madden does though and let you change what team your player identifies as if they have played for multiple organizations. Take Hasek for an example. If I pull his base icon Buffalo card, he still needs to be recognized for the Wings and Senators. You pull and 83 team of the week shark player in December, it’s pretty useless. Pure theme team, he’s an 87 which is usable.

Hi, hope everything is good and that you had a great time watching AND casting the stadium Series in New Jersey and that the flight went well! the 2v2 format was diffrent but reaelly fun to watch! So Question(s) it has been some talks on twitter, one of your co-hosts on the pod (Papa) said Lemieux is losing his value a bit since he has "just" 93 speed (Im paraphrasing a bit) so how would you rank him currently? Also is the Elite Matthews (94 OV) the new nr 1 center in the game, or is that spot still hold by Arnott?

Hey man just some feedback as someone who’s listened to almost every wsyc. It might be more work but maybe instead of doing just the first come questions start going through and picking the best overall questions. Like you answered 5 questions on Riley’s hit and suspension a couple vids ago when 1 time would’ve been fine or like squad battles you answer questions every video. Just a suggestion, appreciate the content!

Hey Sleeves, Guten Tag from Germany! Love your content, keep up the good work! Just came back from Vegas - watched the Super Bowl and the Oilers-Knights game. Both great experiences! Watching Leon and especially McDavid in real life was nuts. HUT question: I don't have much time available - therefore I'm going after objectives in SB (+ some Moments and Rush where it makes sense). Team is kind of decent, I'm happy with that. The issue I have is that I can only rarely actually play with my full team. As most of the objective paths require the 100 games played with an event player stuff etc., I usually load up as many event players as possible (also on top lines as usually you also need goals, assists etc.) and grind through the objectives with 2 min. periods on rookie. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave me with much time left to actually play with my full team on superstar and grind SB. I'm basically just rolling through the event driven line-ups and never really get to enjoy my team. On the flip side, if I only play SB on Superstar, I might get more packs, but never ever get enough PUCs to build up my XF players, MSPs etc. They only come from the objective paths (or some Moments here and there). Any suggestion on what the right approach would be to find the right balance between optimizing the team but also actually getting to play with it? Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hey sleeves! I’m new to HUT this year (free to play) however I’ve played the NHL games for years usually franchise mode or online versus. I only play offline Squad Battles and couldn’t agree more with your opinions on how they could improve it with more of a season/playoff style format. I would also love to know your thoughts on MSPs with additional unlockable tiers where they could continue to increase throughout the year with a cost so we are able to keep using our favorite players. For example Captains event Stamkos is an 88 but they could allow him to go up one overall for every 5-10 goals or points from the date of the cards release which would keep them closer in line with progression and would keep the video game more connected to the NHL like the fantasy hockey event. It may keep earlier MSPs viable for more of the year and will give those cards a chance to reach higher overalls later in the year for players who stick around. There would also be time limits to make event MSPs so you can’t go back to make a player that was having a great year. It would basically allow EA to give an X factor to players that didn’t receive one (Draisaitl, Matthews, Kucherov) by turning an MSP into an X factor where the player base has to keep burning resources to make PUCs if they wish to upgrade them. They could even create a new “MSP collectible” like the 5 cards for the Elites Matthews in order to upgrade MSPs. Thanks for all the help and for making HUT more fun!

Hey sleeves late to nhl 24 got it in a sale about a month ago and after binge watching your free to play series, decided to do a hut team! With barzal, the new elite matthews, and free Eichel I have a decent top 6 forward core. Now im looking to upgrade my defence. I have McCabe and Bobby Orr as lefties, but need to make some Right Handers. Thouhts on the the new elites McAvoy, or can you recommend another relatively easy to achieve RH defender to go for in other sets? I made the all star Chelios but not sure if hes worth upgrading. Love the content keep it up!

When I get the HUT 93 choice pack after completing all the objectives, do I pick the 93 jack eichel (one of my favourite players and plays on my favourite team) and downgrade my 91 X factor eichel? or do I just grab another player and keep upgrading my X factor eichel? Thanks for the great content. Simple question trying to get wrist shots completed in the elite objectives. Hit X on hybrid(Xbox) doesn’t register and total control I can’t get any either? Any tips or tricks? Thanks!

Did it with skill stick. Lets say you have a lefty , go 9 o'clock , then 7 o'clock and then go back up to 12 o'clock in a circular motion. You'll know you did a wrist shot when the players lifts one foot of the ground while shooting. Hope that helps

Hey sleeves, love the idea for squad battles next year and by god I hope they implement it going forward, I’ve been playing pretty much every year since NHL 14 but since nhl 20 I am pretty much a strictly offline player because I find no matter what I do I just can not score goals online and I just always get dusted and if I want to be able to have any fun on the game I just go into squad battles on pro/ all-star and dust teams there, do you have any tips on how to get better at playing online?

Learn to protect the puck and dont spam shots. Most times you shoot the opponent will get possession right after so shoot when you see a high danger chance

Hey Sleeves thanks for the content bro it really helps me out a lot on what cards to choose for my line-up! I just discovered your videos recently and I look for a new one everyday! I do have a quick question, is it better to activate many abilities on 3 or 4 good cards or try to activate 1 or 2 good abilities on many players like 10 to 12 players so you can have more than 4 players with abilities activated? I know certain combos are great for certain players, but for example I have Jack Hugh's XF card with silver "Unstoppable" and silver "Elite Edges" activated and it works great but I wonder if I should spend more and thro on gold "Wheels" for 10 points so total would be 18 points....ugh and make him a beast. Or spread the points around to more players. Thanks again for all your content bud!

Sleeves love the content. My team is set, so my question is, can you talk to the developers about being able to replay the team of the week in squad battles. There's nothing worse than having a timeout and losing 3-0....... why it doesn't just end with the actual score is stupid, and I've never understood that. At least if I could replay for 500 coins I wouldn't be so bitter about missing out on 4k sb points.

Hey Sleeves, love the content , keep up the good work brother. I have major frustrations with blocked shots and all things passing. I have what you’d call a god squad, consistently floating between division 3 and 4 . It doesn’t matter if teams I play are equal to mine or rated much lower, it seems all my shots are blocked and all passes intercepted unless absolutely perfect conditions. Even when I see a clear lane it seems the other teams players can interfere with the puck from a considerable distances from the lane.Also it seems on defence my players block nothing it seems. Giving up cross crease goals when I have multiple players in the middle . What am I doing wrong or what can I improve to help this? My frustration is gonna cost me a tv when the controller passes through it some night lol

Hey Sleeves. Do you think EA needs to fix the AI on how they cycle. I feel like the AI just stands there and won't be in the position that they need to be. Feels like the other team players know how to cycle but my won't. I tried different strategies but nothing seems to work.

Hey Sleeves, thanks for the content. Got a few 1. Only play SB, need to pause a lot, and my second line has to be my Devils,so rocking Hughes XF, Arnott TB, and alternate between Mercer and Elias. First line I have MacKinnon TOTY, Lemieux PUI, and McDavid TOTY. So my third line I got Howe, Gretzky, Nash, and also picked up the 94 Matthew's this weekend. So question is who would you swap any on my third for first line, not touching my Devils line. 2. My left side D is a mess, but pulled Anderson Xfactor, and now it’s fun as I can treat him as a fantasy card and watch the Flames. I love having Mercer and Turbo for same reason, are there any other Xfactors with fantasy cards worth getting? Not getting the Kings Doughboy, since they beat my boys in the final in 2012 lol. @SleevelessGaming Great content as usual! Why does EA insist on infuriating the player base by having stupid objectives in the MSP events? Case in point.. the 50 wrist shot by Elite HUT players.. I must be doing it wrong because I can only get 1 or 2 to actually register even though I am sure that I have successfully made at least 15 to 20 wrist shots in rookie squad battles! Can you provide any guidance on this? The settings guide has the right stick pointed down to six and then it says roll.. lol! Thanks in advance for your help! Have fun at the stadium series!

I figured it out with the help from @BurtKrown88 who is a beaut!!! To provide a bit of further instruction on how to accomplish the wrist shots.. be sure to be constantly holding downward towards six on the clock.. meaning that you are skating away from the opponents goalie. Also make sure that you try and skate so that you are in the centre lane! While still holding downward towards six with your left analog stick and skating away from the opponents goalie.. flick up on the right stick and that will force the wrist shot animation!
