The gold stitching is almost aligned perfectly for flames. Welp, it will just have to be known as the Hanukkah dress. I can't un-see it, now.

Thanks for the refresher on French seams, I think maybe next time I try them, I need to remember I own an iron. My problem with French seams usually isn't with straight seams like in the sleeve, but where pieces are joined together And sleeve boards are great, mine's wooden and may be older than I am, I know my iron is. (it gets plugged into a GFI outlet and I need a spray bottle because the steam function on it will trip the circuit interrupter).

Most important French seam tip: first seam is WRONG SIDES TOGETHER. Ask me how I know 😭😭😭😭 ETA: French seam is my favorite technique for sheer fabric

Also, don't do one all the way through and then try to do the other, or you'll forget which direction the first one was going (which is what I did with the oversleeves, which luckily have a very short French seam).
