Whoever came up with the idea to showcase instruments 'up close & personal' - especially the 'specialty' ones - is a saint. I have never enjoyed music as much as I have been lately, especially & primarily, these kinds of instruments. What a beautiful sound to finally so clearly hear.

I was the only oboist while I was in school. Then a 26 year hiatus and, going on four years, I'm the only oboist in my community band. Sight reading new pieces is always tricky, "what other instrument am I playing with now?" "Wait ... is this a solo/exposed part?" "No ... I was just lost ... "
