The Bride of Christ MUST be separated from wordly "Fun". I, personally, appreciate the Gettys prausing God through hymns. I really do. I listen to them and teach some to my children. But this 2 min introduction CANNOT and DOES NOT have any Christ influence in it. Jesus Christ's heart stopped beating for us..we need to repent, to be broken over how little we love our Lord and if we love Him then our hearts will be filled with humility and gratitude that will be expressed in God honoring music. Santa hats and women dancing on stage are NOT to be found in God's temple. Brethen, I implore, let us not be deceived. This is not right. If we do not repent of our worldliness will we be able to stand when the Son of Man comes? Ask the Holy Spirit for open eyes to see the truth.

I couldn't agree more if this was done as part of a church worship service. I do believe that a bit of levity and fun as part of a PBS broadcast at Christmas probably drew in lots of listeners who enjoy the music and stay to listen for the message in the other songs. Why do you separate the intro from the rest of the piece? It’s Sleigh Ride. It’s not supposed to be worship. The Gettys write and promote great hymns of faith. They are also allowed to put on concerts, hire professional musicians to play at those concerts, and give those musicians space in the concerts to have fun and let the audience have fun listening. It’s not a church service.
