The game was made like ten years ago and it was intended as a demo for Slender: The Arrival, so yes it indeed has not aged well at all, but I still appreciate it for its impact on horror games and the popularity of the Slender Man character as a whole.

Does that mean the slender the arrival game is a continuation of the slender the eight pages game? Because in slender the arrival there is a genesis map and the genesis map is similar to the haunted forest map in the slender the eight pages game.

If we talk about how reasonable it is for the protagonist to go to a forest during the day. But how intriguing it is, that ending where you end up in the same place but at night

I think it might be implied that if you die by the Slenderman at any other time, you... well... die. Either by lingering too long in the forest or collecting a few pages, Slender gets angry, and kills you. Whether by eating your soul or strangling you or whatever. However, if you collect all 8 pages, Slender *does* catch you anyways EXCEPT... you don't die, you simply get knocked unconscious for a few hours as night turns to day, or day into night. Since I believe that the ending in general is the "waking up at same place, but inverted time" thing. Again, however, in Slender : The Arrival, there is a bonus chapter labelled "Genesis" which shows Kate's perspective at around the same time the S:TA protagonist is in the house looking for a flashlight. Kate is the one running around collecting 8 pages, then getting caught anyways and being turned into a "Proxy", the same one you encounter in the mines. Only difference with the S:TA protagonist is that once you collected enough pages depending on the difficulty, you run around in a blind panic, eventually passing out and waking up outside the mines. TL;DR - Collect all pages in S:TEP, you get knocked out. In the S:TA universe, you get turned into a proxy, or run away in a blind panic.

It's pretty scary when you think about it. If you get all the pages at night, you have to get all of them again in the day. The same thing happens if you do it the other way around. This means that you are doomed to be stalked by the Slender Man until he gets you without all the pages. Truly a fate worse than death. 🌳🌳🌳👤🌳🌳🌳

The ambience means it’s still creepy by daylight but you can *finally* see what you’re doing. Far less likely to wander off into the woods and get lost if you can actually see the path. 😄

True true but even with the increased visibility and lack of a flashlight ( not that it lasted long ), despite this taking place during the the day, the danger and anxiety of Slenderman was still relevant
