51:02 The poison actually does do much! Poison directly counters enemies with regen. Each +1 poison is -1 regen so you can straight up remove their regen and also do damage once there is more poison than regen. Poison is a really powerful keyword. P.S: Really excited for this series!

19:02 Rogue is not weakened because she dodged last turn. Dodge evades the whole round of attacks including debuffs from them. 19:28 Cleanse abilities will also cleanse incoming negative effects from the attacks that will happen the same round. Thus, you could have prevented the incoming 'Petrify 2' by using it on the Rogue. 22:30 You can use the locket to swap someone's middle side to a 'Heal 3 cleanse', and then copy it with the Peaked Cap 30:38 The pain would have gone away at the end of turn even without cleanse 38:34 The troll king's regen 2 will negate the damage a single Flick does, thus you could have saved the single-use mana 1 side for a future turn. You can only store 4 mana between turns (+1 coming from the mana item) 42:03 The jester is so bad because his only good side (3 mana) is being covered by the Peaked Cap which you used to get more rerolls for the cantrips you don't have in the team anymore. 44:27 Instead of flick, you could salve Whirl to save him. Salve is not one use per turn. 51:00 The poison is actually negating the trolls' natural 'Regen 1' so it's doing its job there. 1:00:55 You had charged shield + copycat bow and 5 mana, for a bow attack of 7 (with copycat copying charged) on the board, enough for lethal.

one thing ive noticed 30 minutes in that really opened my slice and dice eyes is how good you are at keeping your guys alive the turn at 38:50 wouldve ended up with me rerolling the witch for the cleanse heal instead of using the cleave heal and probably ending up with one of my guys dying or wasting my clink potential on 2 bursts for the whirl i hadnt even thought of the decision of just using the cleanse regardless its another thing that makes me love slice and dice sometimes it just feels like im playing a puzzle game in tense scenarios "how can i do a lot without losing just as much" its such satisfying player interaction that while done a lot in many turn based rougelikes, really comes out well in slice in dice because of undo and RNG

@@andyeban it does, the full version has 4 main difficulty modes the 4th being almost impossibly hard. But then the game also has a dozen different custom game modes if you prefer just having fun rather than beating harder and harder modes.

i haven't really dabbled in 3.0 yet (beat hardmode in 2.0, EXTREMELY satisfying, currently just doing raid mode, which you should definetly do, dont know how i unlocked it but its wacky enough that youd definetly enjoy it, but it feels way longer than standard so might be rough for videos) but for the current time i do have these videos to hype me up for the eventual time i start playing im this close to just gushing about how much i already loved this game in its original demo version i saw on itch to the 2.0/3.0 im playing on my phone but i feel like ill just end up saying what everyone thinks also hot take of a title but i do kinda agree

I don’t think the full release did quite enough. I still think it’s really good and I think it’s very fun, but I find it suffers from “oh I just got this joker so I win” syndrome. You have to go out of your way to try to win in different ways because you get “just win” jokers way too often. The difficulty system isn’t fun, and there’s not enough unique really funky jokers. The dev said he tried to keep jokers to just like three lines of text and the reality is that some complex jokers with really wack job mechanics could have really opened up a lot of opportunities in the game. Once you realize that a lot of the jokers are just “more chips/mult with x suit or x hand” you realize there’s less replayability than it looks on the surface. Still an excellent game. Like it’s #3 probably to me this year behind Slice & Dice and Tiny Rogues. I just think others aren’t thinking as critically about the game design and just like the big numbers lol
