Informative video, based on several lines of evidence from knowledgeable sources. Well worth watching.

I did not hear the weight of the water mentioned. 64.1 lbs/ cubic foot. 2 cu ft = 128.2 lbs. Thats where the energy of waves comes from.

This is why you use standard measures: 1 cubic meter of water weighs 1000 kg.

Not to worry. A series of Coastal Communities all along the Florida Coastline have donated their entire developments to the protection of the Florida coastline by making sure that their properties being the closest to the ocean will be the first to be taken in by storm surge and all that material from the buildings and contents and vehicles will be washed into the coastal tidal zone. And the currents move the remains of the contents of a few thousand buildings into and around the coastal Barrier Island waters, the periodic calm times will allow for sand accumulation at the structures resting points. A series of manmade shoreline breaks and reefs will ensue all up and down from Jacksonville to Miami and around to Tampa and up to Pensacola. Thank you all for contributing your retirement savings to the protection of the coastal zones.

Marine dredging has a devastating effect on aquatic life which also has a slow but devastating effect to human life. It's all connected. Climate consequences cannot be plotted or projected. We have no idea the true impacts of our ongoing manipulation of ecosystems, biosphere, hydrosphere, hygrosphere, terrasphere, all impacted exponentially.

Yes, we should not rebuild in coastal areas that run the risk of major storms. Neither should we senselessly build concrete jungles inland or near coast; market cleanup and aligning businesses that minimize harm to nature should constitute healthy lifestyle and economy since both are interdependent.

Once the coastal communities begin to wash into the surf, perhaps then some biologists and horticulturalists will start to plant some Black Mangrove in the shoreline around the remnants of these coastal developments. Then in a few dozens of years, we can see a resurgent barrier island with the mangrove 'swamps" back in place where they were 60 years ago before the developer's removed them. Things move in cycles. And that is how Civilizations learn. We learn by making mistakes. So these mistakes will cost $600 to $900 Billion dollars. So, that's the price we have to pay.

I have seen soil erosion of the beach. What scares me is the sharp dip down into the ocean where the swimmers go to swim. The dip from beach to swimming water is PROFOUND. And appears dangerous. I can only liken it to jumping into body of water. In a quarry. With very little way of exiting. Seen it in mozambique. North of inhassoro. Also some parts of South Africa. At the moment. Hartenbos on the garden route seems quite safe for swimming. Camps bay in cpe town can have quite bad breakers. Which perhaps are called dumpers. Personally experience it. Late husband got passed breakers it was ok for him.

A true measure of a country is determined by how much money and resources it can devote to be completely wasted in efforts that provide temporary relief INSTEAD of making sound decisions that will work within the natural hydrological and biological systems already in place in Florida and functioning for thousands of years. I am reminded of the Mystical City of Noam in Saudi Arabia. That wonder of civil engineering dreamed by none other than Saudi Crown Prince MBS, and of course he has NO training in civil engineering or architecture. But he has training in influencing the US government to provide the Saudi Military with the best F-16 and surface to air batteries that Oil Money can buy. This city of Noam, is to straddle across the width of the country to be exactly one building wide and be one continuous building from coast to coast. How people and material will move across it's length is still in the conceptual form, but ground breaking has begun. Billions and Billions will be wasted because some Child with access to Two Trillion Dollars in Wealth has nothing better to do than to design a completely impractical and inoperable structure. Perhaps we are lucky that the US is not quite so corrupt as Saudi Arabia?

The intensity, frequency, and duration of North Atlantic hurricanes, as well as the frequency of the strongest hurricanes, have all increased since the early 1980s. Hurricane intensity and rainfall are projected to increase as the climate continues to warm. It is what it is. Get over it.

I’ll always remember hearing the meteorologist forecasting 3-4 FEET of rain before Hurricane Harvey. I’d never heard that before. Category 5 hurricanes were so unusual because they only hit decades apart. Now we seem to have one every year or two.
