i have 40-50 EDC type folders. Just got my first PM2 few weeks ago. Went for camo w S30V blade. I absolutely love it and has not left my pocket since I got it. Next purchase will be this S110V version. I have higher priced EDC knives but the PM2 just really does it for me.

I bought in 2017 a Spyderco Military blurple with S110V steel. I carry it with me everyday. I also have a mini griptillian with D2 & knives of Alaska feather light with D2 & love those also. I have no problem sharpening any of them at 17 degrees (34 inclusive) with my wicked edge system. But the one I will not leave home without is that Spyderco Military with the S110V steel.

With steels like S110V, I use a Ken Onion worksharp to sharpen them. I use a sharpmaker on simple things like my Swiss army knives & that's about it really. If you don't own a ken onion, you should definitely get one. It makes sharpening so much quicker.

One thing i love about this knife is the blurple colorway Especially here in europe with our strict knife laws where the majority of people dont care about knives as much as americans do For them at first glance it makes it look like the cheapest piece of thrash you know these really whacky colorful knives you can shoot at your fun fair But the moment you hand it to someone the look on their face makes you smile such a sleeper

Late to the party, but I’ll just add that I’m a PM2 guy, when I’m not carrying my large regular Sebenza. I do think PM2s have rugged good looks, and feel so good in the hand. I have the fully serrated in black G10, and just snagged the BladeOps exclusive Emerson waved version, which has a saber grind.

Just purchased this knife about 30 minutes ago. I believe you can access the pivot area for servicing w/o removing the lanyard tube by rotating the scales around the tube after removing the necessary screws and pivot.

For everybody concerned I bought mine with a worksharp field sharpener and it works just fine, looking back I would have gotten something else to get closer to the handle with sharpening but sharpening with diamonds is no problem. I only ever used saks, morals and one knife in n690 on a Wheatstone before and it was hairpopping first time. Don't be intimidated by sharpening.

I have the edge pro and I can tell you it tool me a little over 2 hours the put and edge back on my s110v pm2 when I let it get a little to dull. I don't do that anymore. If I use it it strop it. Seems to keep the edge keen. Outside of that I love the s110v pm2. Second only to the M4. BTW the M4 pm2 took 4 plus hours to put and edge on.

that classic spyderco blade and the blue scales, for me, make this a beautiful knife. as a retired carpenter/construction laborer i've got stuff to beat up if i have to and won't press a knife into batoning . i've got hoards of hatchets and axes for that. as for the s110v, i agree--don't let your tools get dull and you will be a happy camper. resharpening eats up a blade quickly when you let it go dull, and you may have to get into convex grinds.

I love the edge retention of the Spyderco S110v, I have the manix 2 blurple. I cut cardboard all day at work this thing works great. I've never sharpened it in the year I own it, just touched it up. But, just like the S30V I've noticed the tendency of S110v to chip. I think for someone who uses their knives hard like I do, I would recommend the S35vn Para 2 or something a little tougher then S110v.

Okay half the blade might be an exaggeration. if s110v is anything like maxamet your going to need 250grit diamond plate, 600grit diamond plate, Diamond abrasive compound and no plans for the rest of the day.

He messed with the scales on a different one. I will never understand the fanboyism with spyderco and Benchmade, spyderco makes good stuff but not perfect, blade centering shouldn't drift over time if the knife is made well. It is a $200 knife so not a huge deal, would be more upsetting on a $500 knife but still shouldn't drift that much.

That color looks too damned cool. I think I’d even pay the crazy price they charge, because of that color, and it doesn’t look like cheap plastic; is it? I have no clue. My most expensive knife is a Buck 110. Any idea where I could actually look at one of these in person? I hate to order then have to deal with the sheep at the post office when I have to return. I’ll disagree with you on one thing, that thing is a piece of art. It looks really cool.

Not a bad knife. For anyone. But I think it's been "over-touted as being the KNIFE". For me it does look like most other Spdrco's. Nothing about it (for me) makes it sand out e.g. Shaman, Yojimbo, Spyiechef....etc. Will I ever buy one? During an amazing sale perhaps? When Spderco chnges the blde profile (hate the nub at the heel (yes i know it's there to function as a choil...their "50/50 desgin"...half blade half handle)...just functionally it's wrong. You want to be able to sharpen a cutting edge from the tip to the heel without running into a "stop". And perhaps you might want to fully use the heel of the cutting edge. Over time that nub will be more pronouned as you loose steel....forcing you to use less of the cutting edge... On the other hand folding knives are for me nothing more than "expensive fidget toys". there are better tools purpose built for what some "enthusiasts" are actually using gheir folders for e.g. breaking up cardboard boxes ...LOL!! e.g. carpet knife.
