Where is part 2? Did you get this Honda 2.3 going?

Ive seen the carb float stick closed on a couple of honda engines ( an atv and a genrator) . The bush fix is to give the bowl a few sharp taps. I definitely dump the gas out and put some fresh stuff in before ripping the carb apart.

I believe the float needle could get stuck easily, the darn thing is microscopic! I took your advice and drained the whole tank so the next video will be me cleaning the carb the right way as well as installing an inline fuel filter. Thanks for the feedback and stay tuned! Thank you also for watching.

thank you, I am glad someone else appreciates making “stuff” out of scrap, it is fun and if you screw it up you just burn it in the fire pit and no one knows

Could there be a filter in the tank?
@partscannongarage Жыл бұрын
Good question, I wondered the same thing so I look in the tank with a flashlight and there is nothing and I can see where the fuel line leaves on the bottom and goes straight to the carb

Filter is totally inside the hose right as it connects to the tank. You can see the bulge of the hose right below the tank. It's just a plastic insert with a tiny plastic mesh screen.

interesting, I will get a close up view of that in the next scene

@@partscannongarage Google deleted my previous replies because I tried to link a page with a parts diagrams and another KZbin video where the guy shows how to remove the heat-sensitive locktite glued-on cover over the idle jet adjustment screw on the carb. You NEED to use a torch to melt the locktite or attempted removal will break off the screw head and ruin it. The idle jet will most likely need to be cleaned inside or the motor will not run crisply especially right off idle and the centripetal clutch action to engage the prop will be very poor making maneuvering a headache. The clutch is hard enough to get used to as it is I have found.

Search on KZbin for "Honda 2.3hp 2.0hp outboard motor carburetor clean rebuild" and go to 6:40 and see how this guy does it painlessly without breaking the part.
