A free lesson for the tab-impaired persons (so no tab ;-)
A slide version of this classic, inspired by the playing of Jim Crawford.
The performance is in Open D tuning, but tuned down a half step (low to high C# G# C# F G# C#)
The lesson is in straighforward open D tuning (DADF#AD)
In the performance I'm playing a 1946 Gibson L50, amplified through a little Vox amp.
In the lesson I play a dobro style resonator made by Canadian Joseph Yanuziello.
Ceramic "Rock" slide

Lyrics
Mister engineer man, turn your train around
My baby's on there, she's southland bound
How long, has that evening train been gone
Left me standing, trowing up my hands
Said she was going, back to her other man
How long...
If I had a known, she's gonna leave me this way
My poor broken heart, wouldn't have to pay
How long...
Well she's gone, there's nothing more to say
Maybe she'll come back, to me someday
How long...
