Nah it's more like, Peach -> Peach Daisy -> Daisy Luigi -> Luigi Mario -> Mario Etc.. From what I recall, the creators don't see Understood as some au that just replaced the characters, it's it's own story just basically in the Undertale style and is simply very similar to the world, just heavy inspiration.
