Never be ashamed for showing emotion, you are a wonderful and beautiful soul, I too, suffer from severe depression/anxiety, stigma from society, I even felt useless compared to others at my former job, you are not alone ❤

I know exactly what you mean about the constant vigilance of being mentally ill it can really be so exhausting. You’re amazing and you inspire me for what it’s worth. I really really hope you get some room to breathe at work. I hate that capitalism makes us feel so bad for needing to rest.

Even when you're feeling so down, you still have the wit and wherewithal to make me laugh Thanks for sharing this -- your comment about having a second full-time job wrt maintaining your existence with mental illness??? dude. Exactly. I wish it was common knowledge that being mentally ill is WORK. I'm feeling it too, ontop of my full-time job where I'm just trying to keep my head above water! I dont have anything useful or actionable to say, but it really helps me personally to see another person going through similar struggles. Thanks, man. You're doing good.

if this aint a mood, ESPECIALLY not feeling like I measure up enough at work. People don't give us enough credit for surviving day by day. as for work, maybe it's time for a change in scenery? has there been company changes that have meant less consideration for your needs? yeah sometimes our performance crashes but also the bad juju can just enter the workplace and make everything suck.

It's honestly an impossible standard that workers are being held to - 40 hours of work, a shamefully small amount of holidays, and then having to stay healthy and doing everything that life throws at us .. being mentally ill on top of all that is a huge burden. If money allows, maybe you could reduce work hours. I wish you all the best!

don't be too ashamed of feeling like "a mess," if you can help it. you are loved and you're in the hard part right now, and you're doing what you need to do, and we're proud of you. i'm not worried for you, i'm happy for you taking the steps you need to take. you got this.

I experienced a similar thing, where after having too much weed too consistently and trying to quit or taper down I suddenly have the kind of appetite dysruption (and mood / attention shit) that I normally associate with drinking way too much coffee -- you know, where there's no grey area between zero appetite and desperate-sobbing-hangry. It seems to go away after about two weeks so I figure it's a thc withdrawl thing, with my endocrine system adjusting back to a higher level of ambient adrenaline. Maybe you're seeing a similar thing? (But maybe not, since you're also ADHD & taking benzos, both of which I'd expect to disrupt this...)

do you do the extra effort out of performance guilt? doesn't seem right to me that you should have to do all that unpaid work on top of your working hours, that borders on exploitation doesn't it even if you do this by choice, i'd assume this means that your workload is meant for two people not just one! or that thing where sometimes the people assigning the workload don't actually know how much it takes out of one person to get all that done? barely functioning days aside i think sometimes the scrutiny we put on ourselves actually warps how much other people would also struggle with what we think should be a non-issue or is just an us-issue. what if it isn't just you especially if your colleague is also being very reactive about workload maybe something just isn't being handled right by your higher ups right now!

Maybe try focusing more on your cat than on zanex, drugs, etc. Your personality when talking to your cat completely changes more positive. Time your breaks. 30 minutes on, 10 minutes off 1 hour on, 30 minutes off. You can do this!
