Ordered My Onefinity Woodworker. Starting to get things done before it get here. table is 55" square. Cannot wait to get started on the encloser. I know its been a year but had to learn things and find someone to help with the programing. thanks again. Maybe someday i can do a video.

The only change I made to Mitz's design when I built mine was to make the bottom section of the door sliding so that I can tile work out the front of my enclosure

Great enclosure! I couldn't help but say though... 15dB ain't a 20% reduction. More like over 90%! That's why we don't normally use linear scale for audio comparisons :)

Mitz sound measurement in db's is non linier, ie a rise in db's from 70db to 80db is an increase in noise level by a factor of 10 or 1000% however Nice enclosure!

Very nice job on the enclosure and the video. I'm surprised the noise reduction was not more.

It is! It's not actually a 20% reduction. Sound pressure levels are not measured on a linear scale, but a logarithmic. So each 3db reduction cuts the sound level in half. So that's actually a pretty significant sound reduction!

This is a great enclosure with awesome features. I have an enclosure for my CNC machine with the door opens up like yours (without the cool folding mechanism) and the only downside for this method is that dust from the machine which gets collected in the cavities of the door will fall on your head upon opening it.

really like this enclosure design. my OF is due to arrive in @ 6 weeks and I'm starting to investigate how to build my table, dust collection, wire management etc. I have the space and may go ahead and build my table to your specs so I could do a similar enclosure. really interested to see how you end up doing the dust control.

This is the best enclosure i`ve seen. Thanks for showing it all. You took time to go through it for a beginner . I`m trying to learn the software before i buy my machine. I know about programing and can`t aford to buy piece of file to the codes. Any help is a welcome .

Hand drill - go slow and don’t put too much pressure as it will crack if you do

Hello Mitz, I'm in the process of building my table/enclosure similar to yours (THANK YOU!) what length drawer slides would you suggest for the Journeyman? AND would 150lb rated slides be ok?

The length of the drawer slides would be the same for the Journeyman as they are for the woodworker as the use the same Y rails. The only thing you’d need to modify is in the X direction. Add 16” for the X rail plus another 1-2” for the larger stepper on X.

Great video and nice enclosure! I am about to build my table and I was wondering how deep your table top is? You covered the width at a minimum of 55 inches but you didn’t mention the depth? I also plan on having the dust boot so I want to make sure my table is deep enough. Thanks!

49” x 60” MDF is what my table top is. Standardize for a sheet of MDF is 49 x 97”

24” tall. If you plan to use the Rowdy Roman hose boom, you’ll likely have to add 6” to the height.

I thought you could set this home position anywhere you like. I know you have to set it for each project too. No there’s a difference between homing the machine versus zeroing your work piece. Homing the machine identifies a reference point for the machine’s cutting area. You can then locate your material anywhere inside that area and as long as the toolpath remains inside that area, you won’t get an error. Think of homing as a reference point to property lines. And zeroing as a reference point to. A structure you want to build on that property

Go to 8:27 in video. Open was 86-88dB. Closed was 71-73 dB. 20% reduction in values but that translate to about 65-75% reduction in noise. Keep in mind this is only for the router and doesn’t factor in dust collection which in many cases is louder than the router itself. Thank you though for the additional details about the noise My wife bought me a new cancel for Christmas and as I live in Canada my garage is used for cars so will need to bring the concrete into basement. Looking at tables and enclosures. Love yours enclosure the most. Think I will make a hybrid version and add some insulation to the inside sections Well done and great job

Mitz, did you use 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch for the walls of the enclosure?

Hi Glenn. I used 1/2” cabinet grade Baltic Birch. Keep in mind that this was for the woodworker and I now have the Journeyman. I think you could still get away with 1/2” for the walls but the span for the top of the enclosure might sag with 1/2”.

What is the interior height of the enclosure? How much do you need???

24” is interior height. I would recommend making it 2” taller. It works fine as is but a little more height would be nice.
