Thanks for another great video Kip. It was interesting and enjoyable for sure. Love wrestling match. Got to have a little fun every once in a while. That was good. Lonnie is really stepping up to the plate with more and more responsibility. That is really good for him. Appears to be a real good person in the team. Hang in there Lonnie. Doing a great job getting the hay chopped and in the bags. You are getting this bagging down pat. Seems the process is going good. I never was around this system. I always helped in a pit silo system. I thought that worked pretty good. But you seemed to get along real good with this bag system. Each to their own I guess. About it I guess. You did pretty good on the pregnancy tests. Believe you said that out of 50 only three were not pregnant. Bulls doing good overall it seems. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

I love the energy you guys have ! I would definitely not leave the bagger on the bag 1-it will get oxygen and mold 2-it will destroy the inside of the tunnel and rust it horribly. The amount of plastic you use to cut and seal it is far less than the value of feed you will loose.

If you leave the bag hooked up to the bagger and not fill it in a couple days. You will get mold into the feed. Air still gets to it. Might be better off to pull it off the bag and cut it start the second cut bag in front of it. with what's left of the bag you have on. Just my thoughts.

What you ran into was the expansion/packing factor. Not a bad thing to have because you are actually storing more per bag which equates to more efficiency.

After the first bag, you have the idea of how far the next one will go. Beats trying to blow it up a silo, no climbing to see if you are close to full. I ran the chopper AND had to do the climbing. I won't say that things didn't get screwed up, but I couldn't be in both places. Bags made it easier.

Is there a reason you chop the hay with one chopper and the corn with the self propelled? I know you guys have a system that works and works well. Just wondered. Thanks for the videos Kip, keeep them coming!

If you put a bunker up you’ll free up a lot of shed space and not have the maintenance on the wagons.
@darrylhauswald89564 ай бұрын
Skip I know you have a lot invested in silage Equiptment. Likewise so do we. Of all the money we have to spend one of the best investment we have made is the Agri speed hitches we have 10 wagons. Man every one that helps us is amazed at how they work. No getting on and off to hook and un hook. Retrofitted a receiver on the chopper. The people hauling in never have to get out of the tractor. You can find them at the Bergman mfg company. Just a suggestion. I’m 77 and brother is 80.

How much does a bag cost . You put a couple of window shakers in your house would help a bunch. And a couple of fans to move the cool air around. We don't have a big place, one a c unit and two fans. Makes a huge difference.

Not sure why you need to go full RPM filling those bags. It was unclear what the tunnel size your filing. Certainly not running a silage blower anymore and old habits die hard. I also seem to recall baggers with a chain will jump off at high RPMs.

@@bodiehot I have done both. Even with a lot of HP, and silos less than 75', they can plug up, especially in haylage/ grain silage. Baggers worst enemy is too much moisture, and they can "puke", but some dry hay will let you keep going.
