The ROCHobby (or Eachine or FMS) 1941 Willys MB 1/12 Military Jeep is here! We're a year behind everyone else looking at it, but we're 80 years behind its original manufacturing too, so what's another 12 months?
It's highly detailed and comes with a few nifty features and surprises. Spend a few minutes with us taking a closer look!

That is a very detailed scale r/c car. They obviously did their homework. The three speed setup is great. I am sure all the scale hobbyists will love the detail. Thanks for sharing.

It's rather nice, this! I wouldn't mind the bigger one either, but the Jimny and then the K10 really won me over on quality. This one did not disappoint!

Glad to see you back. Hope you enjoyed your time away and got up to some good adventures while we weren't looking. Looking forward to more videos, for sure. Excellent review, that's a neat looking little rig, with a lot of features. would be a swell complement to any collector's fleet. And, seems to drive pretty well too, which is a nice plus. Looks like they got all the scale details pretty much spot on, which is very cool to see. I know some guys in our MVPA group whose MB and/or GPW isn't nearly that compleat. Thanks for sharing this. Resources are limited and jeeps aren't my thing, so I probably won't be adding one of these to my tiny collection... but if they ever do a scale M17 MGMC (it's an IH, duh), I don't think there's a force on earth that could stop me from getting one.

Heh right, I see! You know, I hadn't even heard of IH just two years ago but after meeting the Gen 8 V2 and then looking at some VGG episodes I've come to appreciate their 4wds :)
@elduderinolebowski5411
@elduderinolebowski5411 Жыл бұрын
what's funny is, IH had a pretty big presence down there for many years. including some pretty solid entries in the military vehicle contracts. you guys got a really cool utility truck that never got introduced up here. Look up the Mk3/Mk4 4x4 and Mk5 6x6 GS trucks built in the '60s. the civilian models were the AACO/ACCO 172 and 182. Pretty cool trucks, an RC version of the Mk4 or Mk5 would be a sure winner.

I really like that little Jeep. To be honest, I like almost everything FMS is making these days. They don't seem to be high performance vehicles but they are wonderful shelf queens. Thanks for the review and welcome back from your sabbatical!

If you want to be true to scale you should black out the top and bottom of the headlights leaving just a small slit. That's what they did in combat to reduce their night time "foot print" for enemy planes. Looks like a cool scale jeep to weather and age.

Well this is a cool little RC. It isn't tempting because of performance really. My family has a '47 Willys (CJ-2A) that I just towed up to my place to get running again. My dad restored it in the 80s and it has been on the family property until last week when we picked it up. My dad had it painted bright blue since it was a civilian model, and it's a good looking Jeep. Still has the original transmission and flathead 4 cylinder. Definitely a bit spartan on features 😂

SO many of the military were sold off after the war as surplus and were used on farms all over the US. They truly could go just about anywhere in any weather. It's a testament to what Engineers could come up with when they weren't so wrapped up in making things overly complicated for the sake of making things complicated.
@RCTNT

You can still buy these now, a friend told me recently. They're still being stamped from original dies marathonspares.com.au/

@@RCTNT that's pretty cool......even better if you could stick an old reliable easy to repair flat head in it. While modern engines are lighter, more efficient and produce more power, that all comes with the cost of repair and complexity. I pulled the engine wiring harness off my Ford F150 and it was insane. The number of sensors and connectors and plugs.
@RCTNT
@RCTNT Жыл бұрын
@@muskokamike127 for sure. The 1hz straight 6 diesel in my old 80 series was tractor level simple. Get it started and you don't even need the alt, battery, even the fan belt really. Water pump was geared, fuel pump mechanical, couldn't get it warm ever - even needed to block the radiator with a bread board to get it warm enough for the hot shower system I put in. That old donk was incredible. Even my newer 1hd-fte is nearly as simple, still fully mechanical and the last of its kind. Both too heavy for that little old Willys but great nonetheless. My brothers little 4-pot 2.8L diesel 4Runner engine is another like that, even with three quarter of a million kilometres on the clock. Super simple and big tolerances. It even ran better after getting it going again after hydrolocking from a river crossing gone wrong. Washed the old carbon out. Not smokey anymore.

Size comparison beside a Rc4wd tf2 would this look true to scale. I know the 1:1 Willys was pretty small just curious if this would equate to close to proper scale wise say parked next to an rc4wd Tf2 in a scale garage?
@RCTNT
@RCTNT 6 ай бұрын
It's a bit small. If you consider a 6" figure looks about right in a TF2, the little Willys would look more correct with a 4.5" figure or so, I think.
