I have the ball head and want to switch over to a pan head. If I went with one of slik's pan heads would the post size be the same 1/4"?

Most have either a 3/8 or 1/4 post. Check out the MTN HNTR fluid head - comes with an adapter to fit this tripod or most others.

Can small action cameras be mounted on too?

Yes, you can remove the ball-head and will find a 1/4" screw. So you can easily fit your cam on the tripod. By the way you are absolutely right. Action cams and 360degree cams are quite expencive and should not be fixed on a selvie stick with a small tripod!!!!!!!

In europe everybody is looking for manfrotto tripod. I compared the models and Slik offers really much more for the price. I own 5 different Slik tripods. Very small up to huge ones. These tripods cover all my need. Taking pictures from small sweeties at the confectionery up to taking pictures from the moon with a heavy 8kg cam works perfectly. After more than 13 years of use there is nothing broken or in bad shape. By the way: Take care about cheap carbon tripods!!!! They use very cheap plastic and the carbon tubes could'nt be fixed by the clamps...

I had a bad luck when I tried to unscrew the head. Probably, I didn't apply enough force but I really didn't want to damage something. Can you explain how to do this correctly? Thank you.

You should be able to unscrew it, sometimes they can be a little tight. I suppose you could use a pipe wrench to loosen it but it could scratch it a little bit.

How would you compare these to the slims?
@AltitudeOutdoors7 жыл бұрын
The slim is a bigger, sturdier tripod. These collapse much smaller and are a little bit lighter. The factory heads on the SLIK sprint series aren't super robust and I don't know if I would even put a 65mm spotter on it. The factory head on the SLIM is better. That being said - they're both good options. Especially with an aftermarket head. I think you'd be happy either way.

Thanks Brad! Good option for cheap.

Thanks buddy! We'll be putting out a new series where we go over cheaper options for the backcountry. This tripod will make that list!
