This reminds me of my grandfather Bill as he used to play this song by Slim, grandad Bill would cry when Slim got to the line ''I lost my little darling'' as his wife, my grandmother Rita died in 1982. My grandfather Bill died in 2014 at the age of 88, now they're together again.

I recall seeing him on The Tonight Show back in the late 1980s. I became an instant fan. Bought all of his records and still have them to this day. No one can sing like the great Slim.

I have always loved Slim Whitman, This waltz reminds me of a Waltz I wrote called THE TULSA WALTZ except the The guy fell in love with a girl of his own, I would not have lost my girl to another just because he danced with her.lol Love the song and the way Slim sang it.
