Slime Rancher - Rush Mode - 713,211 Points (v1.3.0)

Well, this render sure did turn out fuzzy. Oh well.
With the Automatic Update, Slime Rancher's Rush Mode now lets you use Drones to help out around the ranch! The possibilities are exciting, since these little helpers will give players much more time to move around, as opposed to spending 6 minutes at a time sitting in front of corrals emptying plort collectors.
This run uses a very similar build to my 509k-point run that I uploaded earlier. With the addition of drones throughout my ranch and some slick Gold Slime juggling, I manage to score over 200k points higher! (For more context - my highest non-recorded score before the addition of Drones was 684,051 points.)
The best way forward from here, in my view, is to start sprawling out the ranch more - using more of the Grotto's space, and perhaps expanding into the Lab area. That way, it may be possible to wrangle even more Desert slimes on the ranch, or even to keep some of those Quantum and/or Hunter largoes around instead of getting rid of them. Time to experiment!
--- A note on Gold Gordoes and how to pop 'em (from an old reply comment i wrote for this video):

I picked up Slime Rancher recently, and I was proud of my 240,000 score... But APARENTLY you can build GADGETS in rush mode?!?! I've been timing/strategizing trips back and forth to different areas with existing teleporters smh! My life is a lie. I should have watched a walkthrough ages ago.

Though I didn't follow your route, the way how you navigated the Ancient Ruins and the Glass Desert was especially useful...and I didn't know you could use gadgets in this mode, ahem. Impressive work. So am I right that I basically could get the Rush Achievement ( 75.000 Coins ) without caring for my slimes at all? Just do the quests and walk the path of the golden slimes? U made 100.000 Coins only out of gold, so there might be a chance for a noob like me to grab my last achievement by searching for a good gold-slime route? :c

yeah, I can see that working out. might be an interesting challenge! besides finding a good route, you'll need to get really good at knocking gold slimes around when the gordos burst. some tricks I used during this video are: - vaccing the center of the gordo as it bursts (so that the spawning gold slimes and crates are immediately caught in the stream, instead of flying everywhere), - making sure the gordo was between myself and a wall, and - "juggling" the slimes with the vac after every few shots. all of that keeps the gold slimes close to me, making it easier to land more shots, more often. also, you might as well try for at least the dry reef's plort bonuses; that way, you won't necessarily need 75,000 newbucks to get the achievement (assuming you haven't gotten it in the last week, of course). best of luck to ya.

they are replacment for the vaults so it's not just a "cheaty way to make the mode more appealing" and I think that figuring out how to get the most from the Gold gordos is a nice way to make the gameplay more interesting than running around and spamming E to open pods

that's a great plan for regular ranching, but i have several concerns about doing that when going for a high score in this mode. chickens in the overgrowth simply don't spawn in as quickly as someone can plant & replant gardens full of prickle pears, and each of those pears will grant double the plorts (in other words, 292.5 additional points) when fed to a slime. plus, tangle slimes aren't as commonly found in the areas of the desert i visit in this run's route, compared to the dozens of dervish and mosaic slimes that pop up - makes more sense to focus on gathering those two.

i have to say that you dont get the "slime wont eat" bug is the smoothest thing i've ever witnessed. i've always lost so much time over trying to forcefeed a slime at it just denying it and letting pink slimes eat first (if one is in range) got any tips for that?

i know exactly what you mean; slimes sometimes do a "big bite" animation when food gets thrown at them, and by the time they bite, that food's moved out of range (or eaten by another eager slime!) i think this bug has been around for a long, long time, and unfortunately i don't know any way to deal with it other than "try it again / try feeding a different slime while the others' animation is still going". that said, i find that it doesn't affect my rush mode runs too badly. note that i'm not actually on the ranch for most of the game - i'm hopping around the world to gather stuff, usually far away from home. not to get too detailed, but whenever you're away from the ranch, the game starts "faking" the activity of the slimes there (due to computation limits - why have the full AI and physics for dozens of individual slimes active constantly?) so essentially, as long as I keep the corrals stocked with prickle pears, my slimes will "fake" eat them & generate the appropriate plorts while i'm away - no animations to worry about!

starting a new game in rush mode is completely separate from whatever else you do; it's always set up on a new save, which becomes unplayable after running out of time. (saving and reloading in-progress rush games is ok!) i actually need to do some cleanup on my save game list from time to time because of that! no big deal of course.

no, the plort bonus is only awarded at the end of the game. if you sell 25 of each type of plort, you can bring it to its maximum of 95%, as shown in the results screen.

When you sell 25 Plorts, what do you actually get?

each bonus is a slight boost to the bonus score multiplier, given at the end of the game. the boost amount depends on the type of plort (roughly based on how valuable they are), and getting 25 of each of the 16 available plorts will give you a total bonus of 95%.

i once did a speedrun on this mode, but didn't complete it, instead, i just got the mosaic slimes in 30 minutes, that helped a lot on getting 75K for the achievement. Ps: Im not the best speedruner, you see
