The title on the Japanese artwork is ホラーボール. Hora- bo-ru Horror ball. It is cool that it also, probably unintentionally, sounds like "horrible".

Excellent video. I really like how you go over all the little details of the figures. When I was a kid in the 80s, the only Madballs I had were Oculus Orbus and Splitting Headache. Such a fun toy line, wish I had more of them.

When I was a kid my sister surprised me one birthday with about 4-5 Madballs comics & the Mad Rollercycle. I had at least one of the wind up toys too, the Slobulus one. I was a big fan & loved the artwork that appeared in the old Marvel comics. It was very similar to the promotional artwork for the Real Ghostbusters that was used on the cover of the first video. An amazing looking cross between animation style art & the kind of oil on canvas fantasy art that was used for movie posters & video sleeves. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Absolutely, great video. You really have a talent for making good videos, really made me laugh, I've recently got into collecting mad balls. Brought snake bait at the nec yesterday. Thanks man, keep up the great work, theo.

These head poppers were so good. Had Slobulus as a kid. My mate had the eye ball one. My main memory is how well made they were. Like the plastic was really heavy duty and the heads were damn near indestructible. So good. Going to try to track one down now.

Thank you! I remembered Madballs, but it was Screamin' Meemie's pop off body that I had, remember vividly, running my fingers over the hard plastic gloopy blood sculpts... and like you said, being from the UK, I had no real idea what baseball was, so playing with a secondhand toy that was huge elsewhere, brings it all screaming back.

Great mini-doc! Always love your passion for the subject matter, Theo. With that said, anyone know where I can get those mentioned reproduced parts to repair my Head Poppers? I'm big into fixing broken toys, but just can't figure out an easy way to fix these bad boys.

Great stuff as always dude, ace shooting. Pretty sure Madballs are my number one toyline. Real shame that the cards and box were so plain, they're so well suited to having some sick art like the Japanese version. Also how sloppy was it for Ready Player One to use a rerelease design rather than an original? That really annoyed me...!

Hey Theo you don't happen to know anyone that has created a 3D Print file for the Plastic Latch Hinge it's all one piece in the Head Popper, very clever there isn't any mechanics or springs inside the actual body of the Madball just a spring in the Head that makes it pop. I have a colleague that produces parts for McLaren and F1 Teams he will print 10 and 10 only due to the hugely expensive print technology and print medium, but whatever they use has to withstand huge forces in F1 Cars and Super Cars but also must be able to flex as well. So I was thinking I only have one Head Popper and would be nice to replace the fully intact or working latch with one that I can actually play with without the fear of it breaking. The only issue I have I'm no 3D Designer and my guy needs something called an OBJ because he doesn't have the time to create this for us unfortunately. So if we do this and you can get the design to us I can get done, then I keep one you keep one and then you have three to giveaway on the channel .

I wish I could track down this one gross toy line but I have no idea what to search for. Each character had something gross about them. The only one I can recall was one that was a big fat asian man and on his belly was writen 'Eat at Chuns' something like that.

Just to add about the Madballs cartoon: The reason no one cared about gender swapped characters back then was because there was no bad intentions behind it. These days the companies deliberately push their gender ideologies onto kids. Hope this helps
