My Uncle a melinated man worked for Prime he was taking drug tests every month and one month twice. This went on for a year until he quit and started his own local truck company doing dump loads,no more over the road and he makes more ,vacation on his time. He has three dumpsters on wheels drop them off at construction or residential sites,pick them up, dump and get paid. Peace

Hello, I will second that that’s how it works they will do random drug test those they know are clean it really may them look good. No disrespect toward you. I was a bus driver part time and believe me I was always tested because they knew they had nothing to worry about because I would always test negative. TFS 💕😊

​@@Trendsetta_2000 Fmcsa will notify the carrier they are up for a random drug test of x amount of drivers from their company. The company chooses who they will, "randomly" test. The company ALWAYS test the drivers they know will pass. The fmcsa will flag the carrier if the same drivers are tested more than 5 times in a year. I was tested 4 times when I was with Migway.

So, just know, it's possible they try to switch your negative test with a positive test. I used to drive 60 foot public transit coaches, never had an accident, but was drug tested sometimes 3x in one month. The guy who administered the test told me they tried to get him to swap my negative test with another drivers positive test. Keep recording everything and store it on a portable drive.

I was drug tested 3 times in 2 months.I knew some drivers were never tested. I was pulled aside and told We have some good drivers that been here a long time, and would not pass a drug screen. We know you would pass.I was not tested again for about 2years.....

I worked for a company that did this to me constantly. Like one a month for 3 months. I finally got fed up and confronted the company owner, he swore it was completely random and it just so happened to pick me every time. I said theres no way and did the test anyways. I am a boring person, no drugs no alcohol. Passed the test as i always did. And was never pulled for a "random" again. I worked there for 3 more years after that.

I have no problem with the random tests, companies should do it more often we are professional drivers and we should conduct ourselves as though. I have gotten tested 3 times 3 weeks in a row I get paid an extra hour on every test because that’s how long it’s gonna take me to release Lol see you on the big road

From my understanding...DOT notify your company for a random. The company don't do the pick, they have to supply the results. O/O Jusin from Just Trucking got hit with 2 randoms. He own his Trucking company so FMCSA notified him.

Delivered in Pennsylvania and had to do a random as well after going through Pennsylvania Prime terminal in December even though I have only been here since October. Been driving over 20 years and never did any drugs. The guy I spoke with asked the same way the guy in the video asked you. Thought it was strange to get tested by a mechanic. Stay Safe out there.

Drugs isnt all they are looking for. Alcohol content compared to time on duty to time taken. As well as blood oxygen count to get you to doc to try and persuade you that you have a sleeping disorder then want to put you on machine while you sleep which is hooked to truck computer. It allows them to get out of blame for accidents and put it squarely on driver to pay for. Never tell doc you have problems sleeping unless youre not going to drive for a living or operate heavy equipment.

In my 16 years of driving. I was only asked to submit 1 drug test. If you can’t make it to your 90 in time. Always call the receiver to let them know. And hopefully they will be okay with it. And they will schedule for a later appointment time for that same day. When I drove. W e used paper logs. Not the ELECTRONIC headache that you have to deal with.

It can be a pain trust me. They seem to only do it when the work get really low or thin. I’ve even had to do a alcohol and urine test the same day. Up until last year I’ve gotten a random alcohol test before but as long as you know you’re not an alcoholic or drug user all will be good. God bless!

I failed a random, it was hot and drinking a bunch of water and gatorade not eating, just before lunch, no breakfast test was too dilluted. 😮 So keep job, had to do another one, but still on record. Almost fired for not eating breakfas ridiculously stupuid😢😢😢😢

They're doing it because you're coming up negative every time. They know company wide they need to have as many negative tests as possible so they use the people most likely not to fail.

As a driver of 26 years, my husband and I realize that a lot9f companies choose drivers so called randomly that they know always pass to keep their stats good. They won't tell you that , but take it as a compliment to randomly selected lol.😂 we to drive for prime, and every time we made it in, my husband was always chosen, especially if we had just gotten into it with dispatch as we hauled flatbed loads as lease operators . And then their is the high probability of being chosen randomly from the actual system. Remember you never stop learning even after 26 years. I still call myself a rookie because when you become a know it all hang up those keys. I commend you from doing what you had to do to get out of the situation dealing with the butthead in that tight situation. Stay positive and focused, young lady!! And the so called random checks, that was a joke given I and a couple other guys always got pulled in on the "random" and a lot of others never did. I look at it like so what! I'm clean and they're paying for the testing so the hell with them!

I had the same issue, the random drug tests are fucking insane. It's like they fish for people to give boot to. Worst company I ever drove for. I am an owner operator now, no longer have to work for someone else, was the best decision I ever made, although I am going to be paying back the bank for a long LONG time.
