Got quoted $6500 for a dual setup for my 2010 ranger.. parts were $1700. No wonder people install their own. Least this one came with instructions for you.

What does the fuse box control on the battery setup?

I believe they protect the battery from any surges but best to double check with manufacturer.

With the wire connected to the ignition source, that should cover the smart charge alternator issue.
