Great seeing you in the air Evan. What are the lights flashing from the prop controller? Looks annoying...
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
They’re telling you the prop is adjusting to meet the engine rpm it’s set for. It is a little annoying but you get used to it, and it doesn’t usually have to adjust if you’re just flying normal. I’m messing around down low changing power settings and stuff so it’s flashing more than usual

If you put some long woods on the bottom of your plain (like little boats) you can land on that narrow lake and then hop right off of it into the water

Just came across your channel, already subscribed. Idaho looks gorgeous. As far as the engine noise is concerned, I am trying more and more to leave it in my own videos, at least part of the time, as I've had a few viewers tell me that they prefer the engine noise to music. Good luck with the birds - We've got big ones and lots of them to deal with in Florida, where I'm at. Birds always dive down, so climb if you are ever faced with one head on. It's saved me before from having a cockpit full of feathers. You've got some good stuff on the channel - I'm looking forward to seeing your projects develop.

Another great video - thanks! I'll add to the chorus and say the engine sounds are a nice add (or nice they weren't deleted) and at a good volume. It doesn't seem like flying unless there is the hum of the engine, though I think my Cherokee is a little louder! Not better, just louder...

Hello Evan, I have a Qty, if you make a left turn continuous and you tank selector is also on the left tank are you getting in trouble because the gasolien go to the outside? I'am also surprise there is also a cross tube between left and right.

Evan; enjoy your videos. I am interested in a TSI and Build assist. I don't want to spend years and buy lots of tools. I don't see you listed on the Airplane Factor map as a Build Center. Can you clarify? There is no Build Center in the SE. I am trying to decide if going to Torrance, CA is the best option. Question: If I had two people (Me and my son). How fast could you take us through a build and how much would it cost? Do you do the test flights also? Have access to DAR?

Evan just an FYI, I ordered mine in September and got bumped up on the order list and I’m still looking at June before anything arrives as per Barry. The issue apparently is due to the lack of available shipping containers/boats being held up in the ports. If you’re getting them faster I’m curious as to how you’re doing it. Also. Barry keeps pointing to you for the build videos. I told him that you said we were waiting on Sling proper in SA. Hopefully this helps with the communication some.
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
September to June is about 8-9 months depending on when in September you placed the order, so that’s not too far off. I’m just going off what I’ve been told, and I imagine as the covid stuff dies down the availability of shipping containers should get better. The videos are with sling in South Africa, I don’t think Torrance has much control over their publishing. So far the empennage and wing videos are all complete, but I don’t have any control over when they’re published either. I expect they’ll all be posted and completed by the time your kit comes in, so it’ll be great timing for you!
@ibgarrett3 жыл бұрын
@@EvanBrunye yup. I’m not overly worried yet. Given I’m pretty well prepped for the build I’m just looking for ways to work ahead a bit. I’ve been watch Brad’s build as he’s got some good stuff on the early part of the build. Barry initially indicated it would ship in January for a March/April delivery. But the shipping delays are the latest hurdle. I’ve got my blog/vlog up and going at firstrivet.net. It’s all good for now. I ruptured my right bicep a few weeks ago and am recovering from it being reattached and by June should be back to normal. Good timing! :)

Sigh...good to see my old home from the air. Are there public plans available for those tables you’ve got in the shop?
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
No they’re just tables. Cut up some 2x4s to fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood and 4x4s for legs to suit the height youd like, throw some casters on there and you’re good to go

Are you doing the builder assist from the straight kit and or a quick build kit and if so regarding the quick built kit how long with that take on average?
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
I’ve been doing them with the standard kits, but can do from quick build too. The quick build kit should cut the build time down by about 30-40%, so from about 6-8 months to about 4-5
@NotTelling513 жыл бұрын
Good job... if I recall correctly, most of you time was in a skyhawk maybe... how that transition been?
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
I’ve only got like 10-20 hours in Skyhawks, most of my time is in cherokees. The transition was pretty much as close to absolutely nothing as you can imagine. After spending so much time building the plane I’m more comfortable and familiar with it than anything I’ve ever flown. Everything it does is exactly what you expect, incredibly easy to fly. 2000fpm is quite the climb rate though 😳

Could you include performance data and altitude? It looks like a nice flight
@EvanBrunye3 жыл бұрын
This flight was at about 100ft agl for most of it, and super slow/low fuel burn, maybe 90kts and 2.5-3 gph. I’ll post videos later on the actual performance data of the plane doing what it was built for 😎
