You know you are only going to be there for 30 days so resource deplenishment is not a major issue. Crayfish eggs take anywhere from 2 to 20 weeks to hatch and the crayfish take 3 o 4 months to mature. Best to find a great crayfish spot like they did then move and find another, or several more, further away. Deplete the further away ones first so that when you have lack of energy, or feeling ill, the closest spot is easy to retrieve food from.

As a long time Texas camper....always point the open end of your tarp to the prevailing winds. While there may not be much wind you'll catch what little air movement there is. Another tip...find a clearing and camp on the windward side. You'll increase airflow that way.

Alot of Google University Gar experts on here. The best way to catch a gar is let the gar swallow the bait. They will swim around for awhile with the meat/bait in their mount. In a gars normal life the fish they catch they will de-scale it before they eat anything... Gar will pull 1 time, let them take off with it give them some room and slowly feel them out.... But what do i know, i only live right outside of POC and bowfish naked!!! LOLOL
@OtterEmperor9705 жыл бұрын
Mr Taz what we do is tie a strip of white T-shirt and use it like a lure and since the hard teeth are kinda backwards they will get stuck on the T-shirt and they are easy bait

@@OtterEmperor970 how does a shirt work on a 6 or 7 ft gar?
@OtterEmperor9705 жыл бұрын
Well we don’t catch them that big lol
@mrtaz40035 жыл бұрын
@@OtterEmperor970 i know it , any gar over 4ft will mess up ever rod hanging off the boat. A gar will pretty much mess up anything you can throw at it, but for some reason the big boys know right away when a steel leader hits his mouth... and to fix that you gotta get the coated rubber steel leaders. I usually order everything off Amazon, im sure you can order any brand. I buy a few feet and make my own leaders... For bait they really will eat anything ive come to find out , even themselves. But if you are using cut bait like i do descale it for them. Givem just enough to cover the hook , they don't need a "buffet" like my old man says lol!!! Man its fishing , but i like the catching part alot more and I stay less hungry!!!
@johnnygunz23004 жыл бұрын
From a freedive spearfish dude... Ditch the three-5 prongs barbed spear heads and look up "slip tip" points for pole spears. I get everything from founder to 4' stripped bass. The prong style works well when you can pin them to the bottom or they are small (maybe like a perch).
