Slingerland Cleaning Overhaul | Replacing Drum Heads | Tuning and Tips

I replaced all of the 10 year old Remo heads on my sister's vintage Slingerland drum set with Attack Drum Heads. In this video I go though the entire process of changing the heads, porting the bass drum, cleaning up the drums, give some tips and pointers on how to care for drums, and demo the sound of the heads.

So what is the deal with the drum kit? Do you rent it out for other drummers to use?

It's a shared rehearsal space. We've had many bands come and go over the past 5 years. There's usually about 3 or 4 in there renting at a time. It's just much easier to have a shared kit. You'll notice that most of my vids I actually am playing my own drums. It's just a lot of work because I have to set them up and tear them down before and after. Though now that I fixed up these Slings, I've been going in and just playing them a bit more.

No, I don't really run the space. We all pitch in, drums are my thing so this is something I can do to help out.

Why put blankets inside the bass drum if the heads are pre muffled,it defeats the purpose of pre muffler heads,the vintage drums are meant to be played wide open,even with pre muffler heads,just my 2 centavos,
