Hi Nathan: Recently, I tried to pick up some of those pliers that you refer to as "split-ring" pliers. In actuality, I found that the pliers were called retaining ring pliers, or Circlip pliers, and they are the "external" type, meaning you squeeze the handles to open the plier jaws. Many thanks.

There is a red winged black bird at my bedroom window every day at 4:30AM asking when my new sling shot will arrive. Peeeer! Peeer! I like how the owner does all the videos. Seems like a great guy!

Hello. I've been playing with this and discovered a few things. I only had 6 mm tube from an old wrist rocket band. It's too big for a single band of .6 mm latex. It's nice and tight with two bands. Then it occurred to me. Use my off cuts from shortening my bands as shims. I'm hoping that extra strip of rubber acts as armor and makes the bands live longer. I'm using the needle nose pliers on a multi tool and spit for lube and I have zero trouble getting the tube on the pen. I recommend finding a larger tube if you're using big rock tossing pouches. Getting the pouch far enough into the pen and the tube far enough onto to the pouch is the annoying part. Once I have the bands threaded I hold the pouch in my teeth, stretch the band with one hand and roll the tube with the other. Cheers Jim

Nathan! what is the modification on the ring pliers you make reference to?

They are just bent 90 degrees instead of straight.

This quick fix seems to only work on pouches. I cannot see this method working for reattaching the bands to the body of the slingshot. (Forgive me for a simple question. I just got my first slingshot today)

You're correct. This is for actual band repair (particularly if there's a tear at the pouch). If you have a failure at the tie in, simply re-tie (or re-clip or re-ocularis, depending on your attachment system). Feel free to ask any more questions! Welcome to the world of slingshots!

What's the inside diameter of the tubing you're using? I'm thinking the 1/4" i.d. surgi tubing at the hardware store is too big?
@simpleshot9 жыл бұрын
+jon-anthony Lewis 1/4" ID is too large. 1/16"-1/8" is about right.
