Regardless of what was implied in OOT’s manga, her design from Brawl was taken from Twilight Princess where she would have been tied more to Zelda just like her appearance in Hyrule Warriors. (BTW Nintendo manga never give a fuck to the original material) In the original OOT, Japanese version, Sheik use the most mainliest way possible to describe oneself. There is no single "I" in japanese language. There are actually tons of way to say to say "I" in japanese. Like 64 page of way to say I in a japanese language books Some are female only, some are man only, some are mainly male, some are mainly female, and lots are neutral. Sheik wasnt using one of the mostly male way to say "I" like 99,9999999% of crossdressing/tomboy/trans female character in manga/anime/videogame use, Sheik was using a man only way to say "I" And its noteworthy because EVEN BOYS dont use the male only way often. All shonen manga boys use a mostly male variant for exemple Thats what started the whole debate to begin with. An outsider translating it would just think of it as "oh well, Zelda is just in a guy disguise so she use male pronom. Anyway its "I am Sheik" anyway" Someone who knows about Japanese tradition would know that there are tons of pronom for real crossdressing girl that tons of male use. Add the fact that Sheik official portrait in OOT got a way different physics than Zelda that would be impossible without magic and the fact that Sheik is written as a different personnality. (Mainly pec and muscle for the physics) Either way both gender are fine. Just a funny note of trivia and to point out that there are valid argument to say Sheik is a guy in OOT

@@patrickburton1401 Like what? Any grounded move needs +12 frames tacked on so shield can drop. Spot dodge will be hit unless you wait with it, but that just puts you back in the loop without changing anything. Can't footstool out of shield with this. You're going to have to parry and react, roll backwards, or get a hard read to best this. No more braindead grabbing out if shield or spot dodge spamming. No more unga bunga up smash out of shield either.

Except it's not an "aerial wavedash" at all. The tech is performed from the ground, and *puts* you in the air. At its core, this tech is just a dash jump, but it flips your facing. A clinical name for it would be something like "reverse dash jump." A lot of players were already using this to perform instant reverse bairs (see: literally every palu player that does dthrow bair), and treated it as an extension of the RAR or dashdance mechanics. The main "new" thing gimr brought to the table is that it's bufferable, since no one had really done a deep dive into how the mechanic worked before this.
