How would you compare the Slingwing V3 to the F-One Strike?
@MACkiteboarding3 жыл бұрын
Great question Andrew! The Strike is for sure one of those "gold standard" products for wings with that "grunty" power. The Slingwing makes comparable power and lift which makes it great for new riders and those wanting that style of wing. The Slingwing V3 is a bit heavier but you get some extra tough fabric and reinforcements as a trade-off. In the waves, I prefer the Strike mostly because it's lighter and tends to do better downwind as a result. -Tucker

Thx Tucker 🙏 really love your entertaining reviews, keept it up👍 2 questions: - would you say 5,5 is powerful enough in light winds or would you recommend the 6,5 (or do you think the 6,5 would be too bulky & heavy)? - do i read correctly 8 psi on the inflate valve? In some other review i heard something about 10 psi...

Thanks M78, I guess the power of the wing in light wind is subject to rider weight, board, foil, ability, and wind. For me at 195lbs, the 5.5 isn't going to cut it in any winds under 15kn with the boards and foils I like to ride. I try to have a 7-8m wing in the quiver for those 9-15kn days. I like small wings but you need that power on the light days so there's no way around it. -Tucker

Regarding PSI I think any quality wing you should pump to 9.5-10 psi to perform well.

Hi Tucker, would you recommend the SlingWing V3 or the F-ONE STRIKE V2 2022 for a beginner, 68kg? Which one of the two is better in light winds? Does the Strike V2 have a longer wingspan? Thanks in advance!
@MACkiteboarding Жыл бұрын
Either would be suitable for a beginner in light winds. The Strike has a touch more wingspan but also more dihedrial so it doesn't get in the way as much. The Slingshot is built more heavy duty and as a result it's a bit heavier. -Tucker

Hi Tucker, question. How would you compare the slingshot v3 to duotone unit 2 in regards to power?
@MACkiteboarding2 жыл бұрын
Great question, both have excellent grunt and lift. Hard to discern which has more. The Unit is a little lighter weight and I do prefer the Unit2 handles over the SlingwingV3's. -Tucker

Now that it's been a year, in late 2023 do you still love this wing?

Foil Fridays or Wing Wednesdays? Which is it, Tucker?! 😂

LOL. That's what happens when you do a bunch in a row. I guess it's kind of both? -Tucker

Thanks for the review. Is the wingspan the same as the v2? The 4.0, 4.4, and 5.4 v2 all have the same wingspan. (Wide).. thanks.

Hey John, The V3 is a bit more compact and does get narrower per size as you progress down the line. -Tucker

You mentioned the wing has a batten,but didn’t review it.

Good catch Carl, it's on the centerline near the leading edge/strut connection to keep the front of the canopy from collapsing. It really seems to amplify the power. No worries about breaking it, it's plastic not fiberglass. - Tucker
