I just demoed the 105L today down in the keys. I started the session using my Naish 140L beginner board and I was having a tough time in the 20 plus winds. It was just difficult keeping the big board stable when I was up on foil. I was miserable. So then I switched to the SS 105. I’m 225 pounds so I was afraid I was going to roll off the board. I just kneeled on the board, put my left hand on the nose, stayed low, lifted my 5m wing, and stood up. One or two push downs on my front foot and the board just popped out of the water. Super stable once up. It’s amazing how much easier it is to ride a shorter board. I was just standing and flying with an even weight distribution. Gybes were so much easier as well as my foot switches. Anyway, I was sold. I bought the demo board. I don’t know why you’re the only guy on the Internet taking about this board.

I just watched you do the clean duck at around 3:18 All I needed to figure out the dynamics of it. Thanks for that. Time to fix that issue.

Hi, great review! I´m 147 pounds, you think this is a good board to learn Wingfoil for first time? Thanks! I've been doing kitesurf since year 2000.

Yes, for your weight this board will have plenty of float and will also keep going through the initial learning curve of gybing and tacking, thanks

Thanks for the review. What would you say are the main differences between v1 and v2 ( I think you had the 90L v1 before). Cheers. Romain
@peaplecreative Жыл бұрын
Hey Romain, big differences, the V1 was longer and narrower and also a great allrounder. The V2 the shorter length feels and looks so much more balanced under foot, you barely notice the wider deck and performs like a smaller board and so easy to climb on when the wind is light and choppy water conditions.

@@peaplecreative thanks Dean, much appreciated. The V2 luxe indeed more compact. Looking forward to testing it. Take care.

Nice vid. Can I ask what size foil you are using?

Great thank you for the feedback. For lighter winds I use the phantasm 926cm wide (1253cm surface area, medium aspect) with 710mm fuse, 400cm wide rear wing and 82cm carbon mast.

Do you think the 80l would be alright? I ride in some crappy winds with my 90l and 6m and its nice to have the float when the wind dies. I'm 160lbs.
@peaplecreative Жыл бұрын
Yes at your weight, no problem at all. I use the 90L for light and gusty winds and the 80L for steadier wind locations over 14 mph (I weigh 200lbs) you will be able to taxi in less winds than me
