Nirvana played there the same month (on the 7th). What a time that must have been to be alive (and in Chicago).

I miss playing in clubs like that.

And if your friend, who made you listen to Slint and the coverversion of Cortez for the very first time commited suicide 15 years later and you played this song at his funeral, it remains an everlasting gem ❤

I was at this show as well as the first show they did at Dreamerz in March of '89. In March they started with an interpretation of Rise Above by Black Flag.

I was at this show, too. I still have the flyer somewhere. Dreamerz was such a dive. Definitely not up to code. Played there twice, too.

Saw them at Metro in early 2000’s- they also played Park West the following night. It was a religious experience.

Sat here listening to it and then I realised the date, it was my Mum's 32nd birthday, and my little sister was a little under four months away from being born. 😊 Now I'm even happier.

This is great, thank you for posting this! For some reason their cover of “Cortez” reminds me of what would become “Washer” just in rhythm and dynamics. Awesome to hear the Tweez songs and the few tunes that ended up on Spiderland!

Hate how it has taken a year for KZbin to recommend this to me, every other video I watched in the last 12 months was pointless compared to this
