LYRICS:
Cutting or scratching, they scar the same.
The angle is off, the edges are soft… the mark remains.
I know I’m bitter and full of rage
You would be too, what I’ve been through… knowledge is a difficult age
SO DECIDE/TELL ME HOW I’M GONNA DIE/CUZ I’VE ALREADY GONE AWAY
DECIDE/TELL ME HOW YOU LOVED A LIE/IT WASN’T REALLY HARD TO SEE
HARD TO SEE… NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
Carving or biting, we bleed for keeps.
Out of control, into the cold, Hell Repeats.
God I’m starving, spreading me thin
Buying a story, my soul was for sale… trust is such an arrogant thing
SO DECIDE/TELL ME HOW I’M GONNA DIE/CUZ I’VE ALREADY GONE AWAY
DECIDE/TELL ME HOW YOU LOVED A LIE/IT WASN’T REALLY HARD TO SEE
HARD TO SEE… NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
I KNOW*THE SHIT*YOU EAT/There’s nothing mellow in the
DRAMA*YOU LIVE*AND BREATHE/You like your secrets to be
KEPT IN*THE FAM*ILY/You don’t get credit for your
RARE GOOD BEHAVIOR* GO BE A SAVIOR
You don’t seem to get what I’m saying, and I’m sick and tired of explaining
GOOD NIGHT*GOODBYE*GOOD LUCK/There’s nothing worse than a
Ghoul Manifesto… I’m not impressed though
The greatest conclusion that I ever had
Was when I woke up, and said that’s enough… living never felt so bad
You don’t accept it… and I don’t care.
Bury yourself above all your guilt- when you’re ready it’ll be there.
SO DECIDE/TELL ME HOW I’M GONNA DIE/CUZ I’VE ALREADY GONE AWAY
DECIDE/TELL ME HOW YOU LOVED A LIE/IT WASN’T REALLY HARD TO SEE
HARD TO SEE… NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD
I WAS NOT LONG FOR THIS WORLD

It really is an amazing album. I don't think I've seen a single criticism levelled at it, compared to almost every other album being ripped to shreds by different fans. I personally really like Vol 5: The Gray Chapter and could take it or leave it with Iowa - but everyone seems to love this album!

Right! If people want Slipknot to just sound like Iowa...just go listen to Iowa and pretend its the current year or whatever. I never get why people get so hung up on albums sounding different...its like they ALREADY made album x or y and if you want to hear that so much just go listen to that. And leave us who enjoy hearing a band evolve or try new sounds to enjoy in peace.

@Grooovetrain I don't understand your reasoning here. Slipknot put these songs on KZbin, Spotify, etc. for a reason. Many people aren't able to buy the copies. Many simply don't have the money to, and many would prefer to just listen through their phones. Slipknot puts their songs on KZbin, Spotify, etc. so all their fans can listen to and enjoy their music. What you use to listen to Slipknot's music or any band's music for that matter shouldn't matter and shouldn't determine your level of loyalty to that band. I myself love Slipknot and have great respect for them, and I have great respect for whatever they release regardless of whether I like it or not. You aren't a "fake fan" just because you don't buy the physical copy.
@davidfore5428
@davidfore5428 5 жыл бұрын
Grooovetrain If you were a real fan you would know bands don't really make big amounts off record sales. By time the label takes their half its quarters and dimes to dollars. They make the most off ticket sales merchandise and other streaming platforms.

Be strong, never give up and fight for your life, I have been there, to live is to suffer but I think it's worth it, if it is for something that we fight for doesn't matter what it is, I learned to keep going forward doesn't matter where the road takes me and how many times it beats me to the ground, I will always try to get back up and fight back and become stronger. I know the shit you eat There's nothing mellow in the Drama you live and breathe You like your secrets to be Kept in the family You don't get credit for your Rare good behavior, go be a savior You don't seem to get what I'm saying And I'm sick and tired of explaining Goodnight, goodbye, good luck There's nothing worse than a Ghoul manifesto, I'm not impressed though The greatest conclusion That I ever had Was when I woke up And said, "That's enough!" Living never felt so bad You don't accept it And I don't care Bury yourself Above all your guilt When you're ready it'll be there So decide Tell me how I'm gonna die 'Cause I've already gone away Decide Tell me how you loved a lie It wasn't really hard to see Hard to see Not long for this world! Not long for this world! Not long for this world! I was not long for this world I was not long for this world I was not long for this world! I was not long for this world! Literally no one says metal is dead. Every mainstream / pop music publication includes at least one or two metal albums in the “best of” year lists, there are very easily found metal sites and festivals (both underground and mainstream focused) that sell out worldwide. The only people who say that are musicians upset with their positions and the reality of the genres and the music industry that think they deserve more than they do

The heaviest line “so decide tell me how I’m gonna die cause I’ve already gone away” I was in deep anxiety/panic attacks heart beating rapid for no reason for 3 months i thought I was going to die on the 3rd month I accepted death I found a new peace, once you have nothing selfish to lose you lose a lot of life fears I asked god for help I gave in and let go, but once you are in a deep hole waiting for death you die mentally and go on autopilot waiting for the day so that line hit me so hard my pain water came out, I still have so much in me that brings me to tears I’ve been debating doing a KZbin video series explaining my hell thumbs up if you guys would like to listen to that.

*In almost 25 years of career, Slipknot has formed a solid brand not only for masks and overalls, but with its own sound. The timbre created by mixing heavy riffs, samples and percussions makes any song in the group recognizable almost instantly. Through its various phases, the band was able to mature a purely raw sound for calculated aggressiveness. A maturity that reaches its peak in We Are Not Your Kind, an album that celebrates the group's legacy while seeking to reinvent it.* Long LIVE TO KNOT

this album is so very striking. I know most of their work takes a lot of inspo from like abusive family situations but it was this album for me

Holy shit. Just realized and processing all the emotions that went into that song. Jesus. Corey's desperate need for help, and you can tell that Sid, Craig, and Clown did a lot of work on this banger of a tune.
