Thats CLOWN, he's a Percussionist/Drummer He uses steel drums, barrels and Beer kegs in the songs.

With that sound you were hearing, I assume you mean that "ting" sound. That's a beer keg. When you start showing what you mean, and the Clown is hitting 3 large drums in front of him, the one on the left of the screen is actually the beer keg. He uses it in most of their songs. It's one of the many things they do that makes them stand out.

Slipknot is a 9 member band from Iowa they've had couple members replaced from the original line up due to 2 of them passing away (drummer - Joey jordison and bass player - Paul Grey) percussionist Chris ferhn had a fall out with the band so they decided yo part ways. In my opinion you should listen to some of their heavier stuff from their self titled album or Iowa. Great band and can definitely say my all time favorite band since I was in high school.

An incredible band. I’ve seen these guys live at least 12 times. They overcome a lot of tragedy as well. Paul their original bassist passed away in 2010. It was very hard on them. Just about destroyed them. The original drummer passed away last year. They lost another band member in 2019 due to a dispute within the band... it’s been a rough go for them. But, the keep going and getting better and better. Check out the singer Corey’s other band stone sour. It really shows just how incredible his vocal range is.

Like others have mentioned. Sound youre referring to is a beer keg being hit with a baseball bat. Most likely by Shawn Crahan aka #6, one of their percussionists. They also use often use oil barrels.

Slipknot is a great band, their music is heavy and accessible at the same time, with high budget videos, with touches of Alternative Metal, Crossover Thrash Metal, Death Metal, Heavy Metal, Rap Metal and touches of experimentation. They're more than that Nu-Metal etiquette. I remember back in 1999-2000 when they came out and released the self-titled album (a must), popular music magazines like RIP, Metal Hammer, KERRANG!, Metal Edge, etc, and MTV went crazy over them, even today except for the extreme metal scene that they still complains and hates them, for a change as usual with everything that becomes popular in Metal.

That sounds you keep hearing that's like a bong bong type of sound it is a empty beer keg it's a metal container that the clown guy is hitting with a baseball bat to make that sound it used to hold beer type of idea just for your information! So my all-time favorite song is called spit it out it's the official video you want to watch it's off their first album from 1999 it's like rap metal but the original genre is nu metal ! And if you want old school live performance definitely check out London 2002 live and the song is called disasterpiece it's by far my favorite live song off this live set back in the day and this is when they were super super heavy sound like super heavy like in your face earthquake type of sound! The mass traditionally are supposed to hide the original singer's face so that way when you're at the grocery store you're not you don't know you're standing next to the singer of Slipknot that was the original kind of concept they were going for that was the reasoning behind the masks and then of course it grew into something different and now it's each band members own persona what they would look like if they could in society instead of wearing normal outfits like we do in a normal day!

some songs from their self titled debut album, so you cant start from the beginning: Me Inside, followed immediately by Liberate. I'd recommend doing both in a dual reaction cause they go together. Sic, live or album version. Spit It Out, the music video is based off the movie The Shining. Wait and Bleed, music vid is from a concert they did, and if i remember correctly the words are based off of a s*(cide letter (might not be true, idk but that's what i heard). Tattered and Torn is a personal favorite, especially the end of the song. Honestly the entire first album is amazing but those are some that I listen to regularly in any playlist. When you're ready to start the Iowa album let me know lol i have more recommendations Oh and btw I also heard this song was a sort of diss track to Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) cause he made some comments about how Slipknot is a bunch of weird 40 year old dudes playing metal or something along those lines. Obviously we Maggots were upset about it, and Corey Taylor sort of addressed it once or twice in the media. Then they released this banger of a song, and if you listen to the lyrics and dissect them, it sounds to me like they're saying "at least we didnt sell out and make this projection of ourselves to get famous, we've been doing this almost longer than you've been alive and the people still want more". At least that's how I interpret it lol.
