I have a really rocky relationship with my mom cuz I’m trans and I know she might not accept me. How I view this song in terms of our relationship though just kinda summed it up. It may be from the mothers perspective but I feel like this is how she sees me. I want to love my mom, I really do, she’s the only one I really have, but I also want someone to accept me. But this song and this cover just make me want to try. Try to find some balance and some understanding without losing her. Anyway, for fellow trans kids and other queer people, it’s ok to be you. This song reminds me of my cousin, she was like my best friend when I was little and she was ripped away from me I haven't seen her in years and I probably won't for a long time, if ever. I worry more for her than me though. Last time we visited her which was the first we had seen her in a few years since she had been taken away by her mom after the divorce it seemed like she did everything around the house, all the chores, had no friends, and her mom never left her room. Her mom is a horrible person, leaving our entire family seperated from her, we can't even send her Christmas gifts or letters, it's like she was taken to another planet, there's just no way to get to her.
