Such a sincere honest channel . I like many others have witnessed the many setbacks and failures . I like the fact that the fishing doesn’t always work out . It’s far more true to life to the extent that I keep watching , almost willing a fish onto the hook because you deserve it so much in terms of the trouble and time you put into it . Just really satisfying when we see it come together for you . Congratulations on your 10,000 subs. Thoroughly enjoyed this one , the cod was stunning .Best wishes 👍

I always try to tell the story of my day with these videos so hopefully people can relate to it, even if the fishing isn't great. To quote an old cliché, it's called fishing and not catching. Thanks so much for a great comment. 👍

@@SlippyLimpets The old adages are old for a reason pal…. It’s exactly that , not catching but fishing I wholeheartedly agree .There’s a lot of credibility about what you do . As anglers we’ve all been through the failures and plans go to pot but when it comes together it’s so much more satisfying , it keeps us returning to the water . I’d urge you to keep returning, keep filming and keep us anticipating the next adventure . Thoroughly enjoyable 👍 best wishes , Matt.

Well said Matt. For me, the process is part of the enjoyment, even spending 3 hours in a car for 3 hours of fishing seems worthwhile. I can't see my self stopping any time soon and hope you'll keep coming along with me. All the best and tight lines, Nathan

@@SlippyLimpets Thanks for taking the time to reply Nathan . I can relate to that type of investment . I live in a rural part of france where I’m a gamekeeper for the last 27yrs it’s famous for its gravel pits and waterways particularly the rivers Seine and the Yonne . Masses of predator fishing here although I have a match fishing background . I’ve got quite into the specimen side of things now though with Barbel chub and perch being the main target species . There are literally miles and acres of water to investigate . I do miss my lure fishing for bass back on the Isle of Wight though , my sons working there at the minute and getting into some, it has a lot to offer in terms of marks and species and as you’ve seen over the last 15yrs or so the rubber lures have advanced incredibly & revolutionized lure fishing Tight lines , until next time Nathan, Mind how you go👍

I really have to tell you what this means to an east coast US surf fisherman. I read about pollack under the Montauk lighthouse on lures as late as back in the 1960's. but they stopped coming in, and really our entire cod and pollack fishery has been pushed offshore. This is like our OLD blind or stand fishing for striped bass, except you have to get to natural ones. Cool video. If you are fishing spots with less depth, floating/diving or neutral buoyancy plugs might be useful. We turn to bucktails as a reflex here for this kind of fishing.
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that about your cod and pollack fisheries. They're now under extreme pressure here too. People in the UK have ignored pollack fishing until relatively recently until the realised how hard they fight. They've also become a trendy and 'sustainable' fish to eat which means they'll be gone in no time- one of the reasons I keep looking for new marks. Our size limits mean that the fish don't have a chance to breed, which makes no sense to me in terms of sustainability. Plugs do work in shallow water and I've even had pollack on surface lures in the right conditions, great fun. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Tight lines👍🎣

The drone doesn't lie when it comes to angles, it is steep but it's slight compared to what I'm used to doing in the mountains. I know what you mean about age though, I've hit 40 now and I don't visit half the marks I used to 10 years ago- no fish is worth the ultimate price

Genuinely mate, these vids are top notch. The aerial shots with the drone really add to it. This is my favourite so far I think. Some cracking fish to go with some great weather, what could be better? An 80+cm bass a couple weeks later maybe?
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate! The drone does make a massive difference although it does steal some fishing time, but think it's worth it. Aye,that bass was something else! Hope to get a couple more this season 😄

Have you ever tried playing a fish like that while sitting down? Much harder than standing up 🤣

@@SlippyLimpets Yep, look up what a filipino banca is. I had Tuna,Jacks,King Mackerel and Barracuda on a 10lb spinning set up from one of those in the dark 12 miles offshore from the island of Palawan in the Philippines. One of the Tuna took 50 mins to land as it was side hooked and just kept taking line, thought i had a monster, it was only about 12lb,lol.

Hi slippy you have given me the inspiration to get out on the rocks. Loving the content your putting out. Just wondering what size and brand singles do you use on the razor claws. Cheers
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
Glad I can offer a bit if inspiration! Tend use 2/0 Decoy Jiggin' hooks but most singles will do the job.

Hi - what a great video - thanks for sharing. Where do you get the slider lures from?
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I get them from the slider website in the USA, their website won't allow international purchases but I sent them an email and bought in bulk, they seemed fine with it. Hope this helps

Great watch as always, what did you say the lure box was called ? I had a look online but can't find it

It's called the Spro Multi Stocker XL, I think they're available from Lureheaven and Predator Tackle. Hope this helps and glad you liked the video.

Hi - great vid as always - can you advise where you get the Sliders from? Thanks
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
I buy them direct from the slider website. Buy them in bulk and it saves on duty and they'll last you years. I spent 70 quid on the. 5 years ago and still haven't needed to place another order

Another great video. I was at Eyemouth yesterday and had my heart broken. 5 years I've been going there with a dismal success rate and at last light after 4 hours of nothing but 1 Mackerel and a Coalie I hooked into a substantial pollock on a 40g spinner. It bent my rod like it was made of paper. After getting it half way up it got under some structure and the failing light meant I had to try to bully it out rather than bide my time and wait it out. Snapped the line. I don't think I'll ever get over it.
@SlippyLimpets3 жыл бұрын
Really sorry to hear that, it is a really 'hit or miss' area.If it helps, I find the pollack are really close to the seabed, so I tend to bulky them when they hit and once they're higher up in the water column, you can ease up on the pressure a little bit but be ready for any lunges. Hope you land one soon.👍🎣

Is this near the canyons or on the left side? Went on Sunday and with the windy weather couldn’t see a safe way down. Thanks! Nice channel btw
@SlippyLimpets2 жыл бұрын
It's on the other side of the harbour to the cannons. Not too easy to access though, and definitely not if there's a swell running
