The whole teleport thing actually sounds like a pretty sweet game mechanic to make things intense the entire time, almost like rubberband AI but for players, and requiring a little strategy. I mean, we've all played that game of Mario kart where you've been hit with three too many red shells, and every single cart races 2 laps ahead of you while you gain speed with no possible way for a comeback. And you just throw down the controller and say "fuck this shit". With this, it would come down to obstacle dodging and turning, as well as knowing where and when to teleport. With a little more polish, this could be a pretty cool game with the potential for a come-back the entire way through. Although....yeah, the not-playing the game and then still winning? Something would need to fix that.

I think some of the main problems come down to : 1: Balance issues with the items and 2: UI issues (mostly involving the size of the text and the closeness of your camera to your vehicle) If the developers patched those two things, this game would probably be pretty fun. I'd be interested in buying it to play with my friends if they did that.

I don't know if you know the game "Lego Racer" (the first one). That had a wormhole power-up. They managed to get it quite ballanced in that game, in my opinion. You had to collect a turbo power-up and 2 upgrade power-ups to ged it, and it teleported you only a set distance (like 1/3 of a lap).

That's when you use all the Bullet Bill, Lightning and Star power-ups you get. :D Unless you're a terrible Mario Kart player, which is quite hard to be honestly, it's not hard to at least catch up to the top 5.
