I admit, I was initially skeptical when I first saw this video, but now that I'm revisiting it, a few things stand out to me. The McLaren and Honda of 2015 are not the same as they are now. Both have improved a lot since then and if this project does happen, I think I could be pretty good. Personally though, I'd like to see them go for Audi engines as a way of saying "this is what you can do for us as a thank you for us giving you Bortoleto."

The fact Honda is joining Aston Martin shows there past Fernando’s gp2 engine comment. A Seeing how McLaren is a leading team they would be a perfect replacement for Red Bull. So time will tell.

They aren’t “past” the gp2 comment. Stroll and the Arabs are throwing mind boggling amounts of money around. Alonso will be gone in a year or two. Honda will grit their teeth and accept a giant pile of money.

Mclaren should stick with AMG. They use them for their road cars. If Honda wants a second team they shouldn’t have left Red Bull for Aston Martin.

Nothing is certain in F1 but this is not even a rumour . Aston Martin has an exclusive deal with Honda so no other customers the first couple of years. The previous McLaren -Honda project failed because it started a year earlier than planned when the engine clearly wasn't ready and Honda got most of the blame (unrightfully), that won't happen to Honda again. Indycar uses a sort of stock engine built by 2 suppliers but those are basicly the same so switching is easy.

Most of the legacy mainstream Manufacturers will be doing well to stay in business over the next couple of years, including GM, Ford, Honda, VW, Porsche and Mercedes. Ferrari are at the mercy of Stellantis and that’s not looking great at all. Next gen power units could well be coming from BYD!

Honda has made the best WINNING ENGINES, history says so. HONDA has it, SOME F1 Teams FAILED to utilise HONDA engines, with bolts-ons that FAILED, NOT the ENGINE. Let's wait and see, shall we. 🤔🤔🤔

This approach is what doomed Mclaren last time they partnered with Honda, Mclaren wanted the engine packaged to their specs, Honda couldn't make a reliable engine in that package, Honda moves to RedBull and RB allows Honda to build the package the way they want, a winning combination is the result, Honda should not supply power units to Mclaren, I think mclaren would try to bully Honda and would end in the same manner as the last time, And I'm a huge Mclaren supporter, Honda would be a terrible move,

According to Carlo Ghosn interview about Honda being force into merger with failing Nissan, Honda is an very strong engineering company working with Nissan a not so strong company, therefore well be head butting behind close door. With that said Honda makes racing engine in house like no one. For Honda racing is in their blood the since the early days of the founder Soichiro Honda. Mercedes is manufacture car company who out source their racing engine to Ilmore a British engine company. Honda is better engine than Ilmore because they are stronger in long run.
