Hi Adrianne. I am about to cut a slit on the mother of the bride dress. That’s how I found your channel. It is nice to hear somebody else out there in the same field of work. I agree with you 100%. And it gives me strength to go ahead with the slit. I have my alteration shop. I work by myself and I would like to know how other specialists work. Also if you be ok talking about prices it would be very helpful for me. I feel like I am behind on the brining the price up.

What if your making a dress you designed and want a side slit in 5 layers of gathered tulle and 1 layer of satin but you dont like the attached tulle to satin slit look and want flowy have to forcefully expose leg? I cant find any details how i should do it. I want the tulle free not attached to each other. Can i just do a standard slit seam with no hemming on the tulle lined up with satin lining? I really cant find anything. I hate the tulle sewn into the satin/silk lining look its bulky and ugly looking. I want that airy flowy feel where if the leg is see its like whoops theres my leg but then it goes again or does this not exist does it have to be seamed together in a bulky cluttered mess?

How do I remove a slit?

Depends on what style it is! It might be just as "simple" as bringing the edges together but more than likely it'll need some shifting and redraping.
