Important note on essence sliver. It's ability us notably not lifelink. Not only will it stack with an instance of lifelink (say siphon sliver) but it will also stack with itself making it a great target for sliver gravemothers encore ability.

Yeah, I've had this issue explaining spirit link to people. However lifelink will save you from death, cards like spirit link won't, because the ability enters the stack after damage resolves.

@Cyb3rSix of course, it's I just think the best thing to learn about when piloting a sliver gravemother deck (or even a typal sliver deck with gravemother in it) is which abilities stack on themselves and which don't. Everyone seems to want to talk about how sliver legion is busted. But not many mention that encoring regal sliver is just as if not more powerful in a lot of boardstates. As it gives +8/+8 or +9/+9 if you are already the monarch. Lavabelly sliver goes from a nuisance to an 18 point change in lifetotals Constricting sliver and taunting sliver hitting 9 targets on the encore turn. The deck requires a slightly different thought process than a regular sliver deck but if built right it can pull off some fantastic shenanigans.

@@DuxBellorum13 You literally spoke my words. I do like the new commander, she's nice and all, but I hate lords in slivers outside of modern. Plated and megantic are okay, but there's not much more. But you proved my ideals... Slivers is a toolkit deck you play what the board tells you to play. Overlord is still the best commander. I'm really not used to playing aggro slivers, when I feel it should be a mid-range list.

I know a lot of people complain about this deck, but if you don't have any slivers, and want a good starting point, this is pretty decent. I plan on buying this in the next couple days. I probably will replace the commander with the cascade one, or sliver queen. Depends on how much fun i have with it.

I bought this deck a few days ago.. then I ended up buying a good chunk of singles for slivers at my local card shop.. good start to my first collection of slivers..

Hollowhead is a great card for the deck and shouldn't be removed, discarding slivers is incredibly on theme with the commander. At around 40 slivers, filtering your hand before your turn is huge for setup. Also add sundial of the infinite to stop the sac triggers

does mondrak copies from encore get destroyed at the end step? or the extra copies survive because they are created with mondrak and not with sliver gravemohter?

I get Sliver Gravemother is great but why not swap the commander with Sliver Hivelord so when you get 5 mana 1 of each color you can get indestructible and cook? You can have Gravemother in the deck and by the time you get her you would probably actually have graveyard slivers.

idk about gravemother as the commander ... shes pretty much useless most of the time in early game ... :/ overlord is the best commander imho ... and i think i'd rather pick first sliver, maybe even legion or hivelord instead ... i mean shes good .. but not rly as commander .. at the point you're able to fetch something useful outta your grave you should also be able to get her outta the grave or slivercycle or something alike ... i made mine a hasty deck with provoking deathtouch slivers .. that way shes pretty op removal 😇

I still hate lords in slivers. They are expensive, often are just bad, like I'd rather have the toughness. Only two I even like are megantic and plated sliver.
