I am pretty sure have to cast the sliver if you want cascade to work as unearth only puts it onto the battlefield, so you are not actually casting it

In case anyone is still wondering, the reason unearthing the first sliver didn't cascade, is because cascade only triggers when you *cast* the spell, but with unearth, you're essentially just activating an ability of a card in the graveyard instead of casting it.

unearth brings the creature from the GY to the battlefield. Cascade is on cast it triggers. Since you don't cast from the GY Cascade will not trigger.

The reason the Cascade didn't trigger is because The First Sliver's effect triggers on Cast. Unearth isn't casting a card, it's putting it on the battlefield.
