You dont have to only use a dropper to give them water. I just mist the cage every few days and make sure to mainly mist the sides so they can drink the water off the glass.

It reminded me of those little water bottles for hamsters and mice 😛 In the last video when he put drops of water on the moss, I thought that Giuseppe would drink from that. 🤷♀️ Never thought I'd find a mantis adorable.

I love this ! just a little correction that might be helpful for who sees this: that is not a millipede, It is a Geophilomorpha from the Chilopoda Class =) so we could technically call it Centipede. Keep it up i love this series

I used to own a praying mantis when i was in highschool. Mine had wings. It was part of a science project my teacher did. He bought hundreds of mantis eggs and when it hatched. Each student took a baby mantis home to care for it. Great memories.

Fun Fact: Spider are helpful to the environment since they keep the moth,mosquito and fly population down. So next time you see a spider dont kill it just be grateful that there isnt a swarm of flies and mosquitoes on your yard.

I once raised a female black widow. I regret I did not record videos, because it was awesome to watch her feed. She was very methodical. And I named her Itsy. She died during the winter because the local pet shops ran out of crickets and she starved to death. But she was quite beautiful.

That's the smallest mantis I've ever seen. A Mantis will eat anything it can grab. I had a pet one when I was a kid and grasshoppers were its favorite.

"Mantises can grow huge compared to his current size." Yeah, no kidding. I've only ever seen one wild mantis in person, and it was even longer than that millipede was. Even then, I've seen footage of mantises even larger than the one I saw.

I have had a few mantises and never gave them water, they can actually get the water they need from the bodies of the bugs they eat. I had one that actually lived for over two years which is something since they are not supposed to live that long but weird stuff happens in captivity.

I also raised a couple of mantids. It started when I noticed our Christmas tree had lots of tiny light green specks. I raised a bunch of them until they started attacking each other, so I then let them go except one. I fed him/her for months, then set it free to fly away.

Before you get too worried, remember that there are millions of mantids and other insects that live their lives in environments rich with bacteria. They do not worry about washing the plants they live on. We are the only organism that worries about sanitizing everything we sit on or eat off of.

Sad thing is, Guiseppe has probably passed away and there's been very little updates since these 2 videos of him. Their life expectancy is usually 1 year. I love your videos, but you have tendency to start a series and never finish, sadly.

Giuseppe is so adorable and the sound effects and entertaining narration fit him perfectly. You do such an amazing job capturing these fascinating scenes as I know it’s no easy feat dealing with such tiny, unpredictable insects. Are they often this tame? I was surprised he didn’t run away when you let him loose outside.

I laughed. Now hes fighting two! Lol. We had a large mantis in a large fish tank terrarium in our 6th grade school room. At break time we would go outside and catch her a grasshopper. Shhe was big enough to take them down.
