I am really puzzled how not many people think this is the best band ever. They constantly say they are similar to the Beatles, when I don't feel like that at all. I liked the beatles, but didn't love them. I LOVE these guys. Their music is miles ahead and pure genius.

F**k, I remember the Midnight Special. God, thosee were the days. First job, a little money in my pocket, driver's license, hot GF with long auburn hair and hazel eyes. Life has never been that good since, sigh. Songs like this bring back so many great memories.

@flemingcourt I've had a major crush on Jeff since 1974. I saw them in 1978, and I walked up close to the stage, (back in the day you could do that), and he smiled right at me. CRUSH CEMENTED!!! I would love to see him again, but it's not in the cards. But I do have all of ELOs albums and kick ass stereo, and I have a mile long KZbin play list, so I'll be halfway content with that.

One of the BEST songs of ALL TIME!! Play it at my funeral!! yeah! i was first struck by the strange magic of this iconic band at the age of 17 in 1977. The love affair has never ended. Just heard a song in the car today and thought Jeff had put out something new. It was wild....had Tommy James & the Shondelles influence and a George Harrison slide guitar along with Beatles sound. It was by Flyte, called Tryin to Break Your Heart.

Hugh drops his cello at the beginning! 😁 Ya know what? This was the Midnight Special from NBC. This is when E. L.O. guest hosted for the entire show during their tour of A New World Record - and I just like to say how happy I am that I got to live through this and watch it when I was young even though it started at 1 a.m. on the east coast (U.S.A.) I was 12 years old and everything that people tell you about how great it was to live through that time period of music was true!

In this life I've seen everything I can see woman I've seen lovers flying through the air hand in hand I've seen babies dancing in the midnight sun And I've seen dreams that came from the heavenly skies above I've seen old men crying at their own grave sides And I've seen pigs all sitting watching picture slides But I never seen nothin' like you Do you, do you want my love, woman Do you, do you want my face (I need it!) Do you, do you want my mind (I'm saying it!) Do you, do you want my love Well I heard the crowd singin' out of tune As they sat and sang Auld Lang Syne by the light of the moon I heard the preachers bangin' on the drums And I heard the police playin' with their guns But I never heard nothing like you In the country where the sky touches down on the field she lay her down to rest in the morning sun They come a runnin' just to get a look just to feel to touch her long black hair they don't give a damn But I never seen nothin' like you Do you, do you want my love, woman Do you, do you want my face (I need it!) Do you, do you want my mind (I'm saying it!) Do you, do you want my love Well I think you know what I'm trying to say woman That is I'd like to save you for a rainy day I've seen enough of the world to know That I've got to get it all to get it all to grow Do you, do you want my love (come on now!) Do you, do you want my face (I need it!) Do you, do you want my mind (alright now!) Do you, do you want my love (ahh look out!)
