10538 Overture is a fantastic song! This song was written by Jeff Lynne. The song is about an escaped prisoner. Lynne wanted to give the character in the song a number, as opposed to a name, and he chanced upon the number 1053 while looking at the mixing console. Wood suggested adding an "8" to fit the melody better.

@@richardwelton459 Not exactly. Here is an early video with ELO´s old line up and is Jeff who sing all the lyrics in this song, like happened in the original studio record. For some unknown reason, Kelly´s performance was the result of a different focus into the band, giving other perspective in voices, specially with second voices of Kelly, clearly a good contribution to the global sound. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rITadX-Xq8-chMU
@rcherry19782 жыл бұрын
@@karakorum2007 Actually Jeff did a smart thing in letting Kelly sing lead or co-lead on several songs ,it was a way to rest his voice and he knew Kelly was more than capable in handling the job It also helped that both their singing voices are similar the only differences being that Kelly's is more nasal with a higher register and his Midland accent is slightly more prominent
