I love Chris Murphy's attempt to be all rock & roll destructive at the end ... handing his guitar to a guy and throwing a sofa cushion. Oh Canadians, never change.

love how chris gets caught up jamming and misses the next verse. the look on patricks face when he is trying to improvise until chris comes back to his mic is priceless. and i love how how jay keeps playing after the song is done. long live sloan!

I remember watching this when it was on tv. The show was called 'Friday Night' with Ralph Benmergui or something like that. I had no idea who Sloan was but asked my friend a couple of days later and I became a fan. I've seen them several times, including once front row at Massey Hall, where after the last song, Chris walked to the front of the stage and handed his bass to the girl I was there with, just as he did on this clip. Security (or a roadie) quickly came and grabbed it back from her. Long live Sloan. Twice Removed is one of Canada's all time great albums.

whoever was engineering this set simply killed it. guitars are rock solid but not overbearing, vocal balance is great, and the drums sound like "nevermind" live at times. really presented an amazing performance as best was possible.

Seen them back in 93 in Windsor On. Eric’s Trip and local band King Kool Flipped opened for them. Oh and Hip Club Groove as well!! Amazing memories.
All you "that guy is like this guy", or "he is being derivative of (x)"...look how long Sloan has been around...granted, they weren't here before Keith Moon, but, just saying...Sloan is amazing and deserves to be judged on the same tier with the greats, not looked at as "a Canadian version of...."

They became SO MUCH BETTER with their next album (Twice Removed). While TR is their all-time-top-rated album, the have a handful of gems. They are way more diverse than meets the eye - and their song writing emerges as a rich power of seduction - as their appeal is also laced with the fact that they seem so relate-able. Highly under-rated, not because so much of what they are, but what they are not, including quitters. Keep on producing great pop guys - I'm right there with ya (own their whole catalog). - signed, 30+ year drummer, recording 'artist'.

Sloan actualy tours with two Mustang Basses. Chris uses a Red with a white stripe and white pick plate for his role on bass but they have a second one you can see Jay play when they perform People of The SKy live. Its all Black and has the same finger rest and no stripe. You can still find the basses on Ebay with the racing stripe but they arent the cheapest. I CRAVE one....

Curt Cobain was a talent-less drug addict who got into music because he didn't want to work. Proof? He's dead. These guys are MILES better and don't deserve the discourteous, yet inevitable, comparison to those hacks called Nirvana. Smeared was better than all of Nirvana's cd's combined.
