Sloane Stephens has a heart of gold to do what she did at the net and comfort Madison. Great act of kindness.

Sloane will always be remembered for being a great player but I think she may have superseded that with such a compassionate act at the net.

Keys probably has the better shots, but I have a feeling that was not playing smart. It was one powerful shot after another power shot. Stephens was looking to counter punch more , which in my opinion won her the match.

This was Sloane Stephens at her best, and she became the player, so many predicted that she would be. Sloane is a naturally gifted athlete. HOWEVER, what pi$$e$ me off about her game is that when she is losing, she immediately gives up!

Sloane played and executed solid, high percentage tennis. The movement, consistency and strategy. And She managed the emotions of the moment so much better than Madison. Well deserved

Madison is way too one dimensional. It's hit hard and then hit harder. With her game, she should have a couple of slams, but she doesn't change her game when it's not working. She would be great if she had a game with more variety, so instead of making just semifinals and finals of slams, she can get that breakthrough slam. As for Sloane, she can achieve so much more, but there are just those matches where she has no energy. If she plays like she did here at the US Open, for at least half this energy, she would be no.1. Good luck to both ladies, very talented players.

Exactly. I mean her coach is Lindsay davenport! And Lindsay's not even that 1 dimensional.

Well Keys is a agresive player,but she wasn't there.I thought that she was gonna to retire,it was obvious that wasn't just her weak mental,i think is was a bit injured.But Sloane deserved that title 100%.
@bugs19174 жыл бұрын
@@cosminapisoi yeah I agree with you, but I wish Sloane hadn't become so lazy losing in the first round of the Us Open like that last year(2019)
@pomerlain89244 жыл бұрын
@@cosminapisoi I don't think it was injury. She was moving just fine in her previous rounds. She just had no Plan B. All she did was try to hit hard, and if she missed, hit harder, and that plan failed miserably. And it's not the first time we've seen this from her. That was, without a doubt, one of the worst performances ever in a GS final.
@pomerlain89244 жыл бұрын
@@bugs1917 Sloane seems almost content with her one slam. The lack of effort we've seen her put out in matches against lower-ranked players is galling. She's lost multiple times to players ranked outside the top 100 and 200, and it always seems like those players are the legit top players, and not Sloane. She comes out with no intensity and gives the lower-ranked players hope that they can beat her, and they do.
@bugs19174 жыл бұрын
@@pomerlain8924 She had so much potential, probably had more slams coming if she had kept practicing and trying to get better. If I had won 3.7 million dollars, I'd be set for life! But I have that passion, that drive to do more. Sloan probably said "I'm rich fuck it"

@cristiantaradaciuc293 жыл бұрын
Yes,but the hawkeye isn't the solution. I'm starting to hate the hawkeye system after what happened to Khachanov. And think that the line judges can lose their jobs and a lot of money if they were replaced by the hawkeye. But you really have a point tho,to be a line judge is risky,but yeah,everyone makes mistakes.
