A Mother's Quirks - Sprout's Unique Affection

Carrying on from last week's video, Joe made his way to his mum, Sprout, and sat on her lap. Sprout then pulled him up and held him upside down. Holding onto him by his feet, she then put him on her head. She loves putting things on her head, normally it's wood wool, but her son will do as well.
When she pulled him back down again, she looked like she was nibbling on his face rather than kissing it. As Jim played in the background after his feed, Joe was eager to join him. They both had a playful wrestle. When Jazz came out in the sun, Jim joined her, and Joe was back with his mum, Sprout, who was holding him with her feet. Sprout started biting him and watching Jazz's fist, she hit her daughter to say stop this biting. She's not the gentlest mother and is still learning. Joe made a quick getaway again and sat in front of Jazz. Sprout's hair😂🤣. Sprout was being silly and suddenly fell backwards, while Joe planted his arm in Jim's face. Joe inspected his mum, and when Sout tried to grab him with his feet, Jazz made her let go. A bit later, Joe had a look at what his mum was doing but then ran back to Jazz. Jazz turned around with her baby and then picked up Joe. Dijimat, the dad of the boys, walks past.

Orangutan Mother Jazz (30) from the Dudley Zoo became super mum as she's not just looking after her own baby boy Jim (born 25th of June 2022), now she's looking after her daughter's newborn baby Joe (born 23rd July 2022) as well, as her daughter found first-time motherhood a little bit challenging. When her daughter Sprout gave birth she walked away and left the baby on the floor. Mother Jazz picked the baby up straight away. Jazz is nursing both and giving both love, care and attention.
Flanged Orangutan male Djimat is the dad of both babies.

The boys know who to go to when they want to play and who to go to when they need comfort. Sprout is a big sister to both and entertains them well. I love watching this little family.

Sprout seems more of a big sister to her son rather than his mom. It’s interesting that mothers sometimes reject their children like sadly many human parents do

That baby knows who its mom is. You don’t have to give birth to be a mom. 🥰. Thank Goodness Jazz takes care of that baby. I admire her for that.

Jazz was beside Sprout while Sprout was playing with her son. Sprout seems so childlike . I think maybe she just isn't mentally mature enough for motherhood ,at this time . She is young at heart .❤

Motherhood is a marathon not a sprint, Sprout will never have a mother child relationship with her bouncing baby boy I fear. I hope she's on birth control for the foreseeable future, she needs to mature and continue to watch and learn from her Mom. Maybe one day, but for now the motherhood train has left the station, thank goodness Jazz was there to step in. Right place right time SV.. 😎

Joe seems to know somehow that Sprout is his birth mama maybe instinctively if that makes sense and seems to care for her the way he checks on her. But in the end he knows Grandma Jazz aka Mama Jazz takes better care of him. Sprout definitely has a lot of growing up to do and a whole lot more to learn as far as being a mother. Sprout herself has an excellent Mama in Jazz. I love the way Jazz got onto her about the biting. I know it seemed to be play biting but still. It seemed Sprout kind of pouted after her Mama Jazz got onto her. Lol😂 It was so sweet how Joe still checked on his silly and crazy Mama Sprout before returning to his Grandma and surrogate mother Jazz. 😊 Thanks again Slogger Vlogger for the great stuff you catch. ❤😀

Hi. I'm not sure if you seen the other videos or know her story. She isn't actually looking after her baby. She's more of a babysitter of her own baby for a few minutes as her Mum Jazz is looking after her baby. Sprout's mother Jazz is looking after her daughters baby and her own.
