Best thing about sloppy seconds their bootlegs are cheaper than other bootleg sellers.

I'm a big fan of SSS, and the way they make rare movies more available. I've bought movies from them that weren't available on physical media, or even on streaming.

When it comes to older media preservation is an issue too. The commentary that you mentioned might become lost without something like this. If these movies were made available for purchase, not lease, through traditional channels then most people would buy them that way. I nearly fell over when I saw the Sleepy Eyes of Death collection. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I completely agree with you, there are so many movies and shows out there that just aren’t available for one reason or another and I’m glad that these guys are able to provide access to them on physical media.

I got some anime titles from them. They used soft subtitles, which unfortunately dont play well with the PS3 (my preferred player), but they were very up font with me and told me about the reasons. Very helpful

I side with if the original version wasn't available anywhere, then I see nothing wrong with it. I've been looking for the original theatrical release versions of Star Wars episodes 4-6 without the horrible added CGI scenes, especially Return of the Jedi. Lucas never released it at all. Also hoping the have The Last of the Mohicans theatrical cut because all that's available now is the Definitive Director's Cut which Michael Mann cuts out almost all the iconic scenes that made the movie amazing. I've bought it on VHS and Blu-ray as the Definitive Director's Cut just to have it. I no longer have a video player to play the VHS though. I'm hoping to upgrade.

Great video. I have purchased a few things from SSS before and I've always been satisfied. If they actually become legitimate releases in the future I will purchase them again. Ps Director Tsui Hark's name is pronounced Choy Hock

May have to pick that one up in the future. Another John Woo classic that I only had on VHS.

Criterion needs to put out the John Woo stuff on 4k immediately
@CavanaughsCorner8 ай бұрын
That would be amazing. I read in a recent with Woo himself, he mentioned that he’d love to release his older films on 4K but they are stuck in a rights issue quagmire.
@richconroy55596 ай бұрын
The problem is the rights holders for the film are, if I'm being told correctly, some sort of travel agency or real estate holdings group and are not willing to license out the films unless you want to license out every film that they have and most of them are not what anyone on this side of the ocean is looking for

@richconroy5559 WOW. That is absolutely terrible.

Yeah I heard that they changed the audio mix for the trilogy. My question is does the first one have the original gunfire audio mix and not the new one? I am worried since you said the second had it.

Kill bill has been out on a limited edition Japanese DVD, not in 1 movie cut, it was in 2 movies, but they were the same uncut color versions of it, and iot's the only release to ever be

I just came to your channel and I'm glad I did! I've been really interested in this company and you did a great job explaining everything. I love physical media and I try to get everything I love. Sadly I lost a lot back in '14 due to a flood 😕 😔 my childhood items and VHS 📼 and vcr as you know so much is stuck on VHS but I lost a lot of DVDs and they were amazing back then with what you received from extras and the packaging!! Also blu-ray movies that are OOP or just way too expensive! Back then I didn't know anything about OOP!! I had tons of twilight times and License to Drive Free Willy Lucas Airheads and others that are ridiculous in price nowadays and I probably paid $10 for most of those but I've slowly got what I can since and movies TV and music is what I love and what's helped me through some hard times due to my handicap and when you can't do much it's nice to have something to take your mind off things. I can't wait to watch your older videos. Take Care and Stay Safe.

Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your story and your experiences with me. I’ve also always had a love for physical media as far back as I can remember. I’m sorry that you lost a lot of your collection years ago but in the end, it’s only stuff and your life is more important. Keep on collecting and doing what you love!
