Destroyed was like the soundtrack to my teen years!!! I LOVE the way you play guitar! I'm a guitar player as well and have been for 30 years and have always admired your style!!! Thanks so much for the insight! I would have never thought about throwing those inverted chords in there!! Would very much like to meet you someday I'm a disabled father and honestly when times are tough I throw on some destroyed and it helps brighten my day!!

Destroyed was one of my first album purchases back in 94', had to special order it from store in Chicago. Been playing guitar ever since, thank you for the great riffs.

Wow! You are the actual guy from Sloppy Seconds! Man I listened to Destroyer over and over again in the early 90's. I was just listening to a couple of tracks from it this morning on you tube in fact. I can't believe how few views this has. Anyways thanks for the tutorial.

NOT stupid at all… and 27 years of listening to the record I never knew it was sped up (I don't feel quite so inadequate on the drums). This is like Behind the Music. Hope you are doing grand.

13/F/K thanks! Yeah there's a few tracks on Destroyed that got sped up. At the time I didn't fight it, but I wish I had, if for no other reason to make it easier on guitarists that try to play along! Lol I think the worst example is Steal Your Beer. It's supposed to be in G!

Well, when you're drumming, to get that kind of play on the high hat and ride, so clean and so fast! It's not easy… Steve's a fine drummer of course, but seriously, that makes a lot of sense now, hahaha…It won't detract from my listening pleasure though. Pure classic. A buddy of mine in my early teen years gave me a copy of Destroyed and this was without a doubt my favorite track(having met Traci in the stacks of my Dad's secret stash). I learned this by ear but never did quite figure out the high chords in the verse. This is fucking awesome! Glad to see you're doing well man! Instant sub!

Dude! This is awesome-like a dream come true. I really hope you do more of these, especially the intro riffs and solo bits of I Don't Wanna Be a Homosexual. I feel like I'm missing something, because I can't make it sound quite right. I still listen to Destroyed a couple of times a week, and it still sounds so damn fresh.

Question: How many pressings of Destroyed were made on Toxic Shock in '89? I still have the original destroyed record I bought when I was 13 and still play it regularly!

That's a good question. Certainly less than 5000. Id almost venture to say more in the neighborhood of 1000. I quit Sloppy in 93 and at that time I'm pretty sure there had not been a repressing. At some point we (Sloppy) actually bought the rights back from Toxic Shock hence so many different labels making re-releases. FYI. When I say less than 5000 original pressings that includes CD and cassette.
