I'm so glad that you went with the safety equipment, that head gasket failure at the track could have been catastrophic, I've seen people die right in front of me at a race track, it happens faster than you think, always plan for it and hope it doesn't happen. Be safe, don't just send it when your life depends on it.

Dear Matt and Mark, if you don't make the 8 sec run (and since the budget is busted) I want to buy this build cheap and use it as a daily driver. I figure that by strapping on the blanket muffler and setting the idle at 1800 rpm, it would be perfect for going shopping or to the local pub - sort of like "Sloppy Driver Mode". All I ask is that you throw in air conditioning, seat heater, and rear window defogger. Thanks.

By all means, take the time to make sure it's safe. Most of the negative comments I've read are from people that clearly don't have your safety in mind and just want to see it go. I think they don't realize how fast it will be and how quickly things can get out of hand at those speeds. So screw those guys and do your thing!

I always wonder about building the fastest car cheapest way possible, probably somewhat close to this car but I was thinking run on m1, no intercooler or radiator, save money and weight. Obviously a full fledge drag car then. Could terminator x run m1 or is that a totally different ball game?
