Thanks for the interview, Jacob! Strategy is to play the highest denomination you are comfortable with, even if you have to bet the minimum number of credits. Casinos usually set higher paybacks on the higher denominations, including on multi-denomination machines. For example, if you want to bet $5 per spin, betting five credits on the $1 denomination is a better choice than betting 500 credits on the penny denomination.

I disagree. A $5.00 bet on the penny slots comes with a 10x multiplier. I found I get bigger balls with the max bet rather than minimum bets with the higher denoms. Plus you get fewer lines to hit on.

I find every casino has the same slots, there isn't as much variety on the Strip at all. They are placing them in circles(4) rather than side by side, which makes it difficult to play as a couple, or with friends. They are so BIG now as well, so there seems to be fewer slots as well in the Casinos on the floor.

Casinos pretty much suck these days. Way to many new games. It was so much better when you went to a casino you knew where the double diamonds and wild cherry was located and you would go to that section to play you favorite game. Nowadays if you find a favorite game and go back to the casino next month's it's been replaced with some stupid dragon or panda game. They trick you on a game and by the time you waste your money to figure out how it works, it's gone for another stupid lotus or dragon or FU game. It was much better when all the cabinets were the same size and you had some sight lines on a casino floor now some machines maybe 10 feet tall next to one that is 15 feet tall next to one that is 5 feet tall. Casinos look like a blue light special these days

In Nevada , the Gaming Board Prevents casinos from tightening machines . It is Illegal for a casino in Nevada to rig there machines inside the Casino . However , it is still Randomized to win so never expect to win lol. Now in other states with Indian Casinos , I dunno what goes on in them lol

Is it just me, or did he totally sidestep the "can the percentage be changed" question? The point of the question was whether the percentage could be changed on the fly (I assume he meant remotely), but Mr. Trask just explained what the percentage means. This is a question that people in the know seem to be very reluctant to answer. Does the machine have to be brought offline and a chip changed (or flashed) to alter the programmed percentage? Does the machine simply need to be opened an an internal switch or menu option changed? Or, can it be done remotely while the machine is in operation? I've heard answers that suggest all three of these options, yet they seem to be contradictory. Still, great interview!

Think about slot tournaments..the machine constantly wins and the person who has the highest winning ...wins..well how do you suppose that happens. Its pretty obvious they turn them on remotely and I would wager its floor sections in the casino. Just walk around and notice certain sections of the floor will win more then other areas.

Yes, we all know how probability works. that's why the pay out percentage is super relavent. Playing slots on the strip will objectively be worse odds than casinos off the strip, despite having the same machines. Casinos 100% change the odds. Daily even.

He did not answer the question for whatever season. Of course the payback rates are not hardcoded, they can be changed. However, the casinos cannot just go in and change them, all changes have to be reported to regulatory agencies and maybe even inspected. So it is not done that often.

The RTP or return to player can be changed but you have to file all sorts of paperwork with the gaming commission and physically remove and replace the RNG chip in the machine. You cannot change a machine “on the fly”. There is NO reason to change the payout percentages, the machines are already engineered to take in more money than they pay out.

unfortunately, I have gambled since 1995, and I have noticed that all machines payout less than what they used to. I really noticed this dramatic change with the onset of bigger denomination gamblers on youtube. I don't know how casinos cheat exactly, I only know they do and they must have to pay off people to look the other way. If an ordinary person such as myself spots casino cheating then you cannot tell me trained regulators do not notice cheating. Besides changing the payouts,i think they cheat by changing the game out at some point in its life and changing the dynamics.

As soon as those machines ever get close to paying out a huge jackpot, they are traded out. Occasionally, a machine will give out the master jackpot before the time has come but if their reserve banks are completely full then it will hit easier and that’s the truth. Those machines all have like 3-5 reserve banks.

My experience on winning a Super Grand Progressive. I was told by the men in suits who came and opened the machine and communicated with the manufacturer, that the manufacturer paid the $$$ on the Super Grand Progressive. The check for the payout only showed the Casino name. Surprise $2.50 bet, 5 cent denom.

If you play Video Poker with a 98 percent payback schedule it can still feel like the machine is eating your money but at least you get to play for a decent amount of time. If a slot is set at 90% its easy to understand how you can blow $100 in 5 minutes on those things..

Casinos can change the RTP within limit minimums set by the state with permission and a lengthy paperwork process with their local gaming commission. However, changing the RTP doesn’t affect short term gains for the casino or the player. The RTP will eventually hit that percentage over millions of spins with many lows in favor of the casino and many highs in favor of the player. There is no need to change the RTP when the house always come ahead overtime. Helpful channels like @cowboyslots has many informative videos 😉
