I finally understand about the magnets. Maybe in 2023 I will invest in the oxygen system. Going to watch this again just not fully up on the chip upgrades required. Thanks for your video.

I'll do more videos about oxigen and I also have hundreds of carrera chiped cars. So switching is not an option. But having both is. ;-)

I have a CARRERA track. I have CARRERA, SCALELECTRIC, SLOT IT, PIONNEER and lots of other cars. Some I have chipped for CARRERA others are right now shelf queens. A few will never race since they represent cars I had when I was very young. I find the OXigen system very interesting. nice listening to your english with that hint of german. I spent 5 years in Germany.@@slotracing.digital

@@richardlange9094 yes, it's my first video in english. I joined the slotforum and publishing german videos in an english forum doesn't feel right. So I tried it and people seem to like it ;-) In case you have some video ideas, let me know.

@@slotracing.digital I am going to lots of track stuff and will be installing the magnets. And I am going to order the Slot It C chip. I have a SCP 3 controller already, Is there anything else I need to order? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

@@richardlange9094 Hi to use carrera lap counter that's basically it. But i really recommend to go for oxigen and only use a Carrera track. For oxigen lap counter you need the PC dongle, PC with driver from slot.it page and a race management software. I recommend PC lap counter. But you can start with carrera rms. Do you organize races?

Man, I do not speak German, but I can say that your English is much better than your German ;-) Seriously, you should do more videos in English!

Thanks for the English version. I will share with others.

What a clever video packed with information. you have managed to communicate this conversion so that even I can understand. And your track looks like an excellent layout as well .

And, of course, when running all oXigen cars (nor parallel with Carrera Digital), you would use an oXigen RMS such as Chrono or RCSO2, and then you would have a track call for crashes. :)

Exactly! That's on top of my list, checking out Oxigen RMS and 3rd party RMS for Oxigen! :)

Couple more questions. In the video on the pit lane exit you show two sensors, my Carrera pit lane does not have sensors on the exit, was that something you added? Also the magnets need to be placed with the south side up and O2 says on the left hand side facing the motor, am I correct that this is the opposite because Carrera powers the track differently. Are magnets required at lane changers ?
@slotracing.digital Жыл бұрын
Hello, yes I use Cockpit XP as RMS for Carrera. And it comes with additional sensors and USB boxes to improve the experience. Regarding magnets, the only important thing is that your cars and your track have the magnet/hall sensor on the same side. It doesn't matter if you place it on the left or on the right. But I recommend placing it on the right side of the track and the hall sensor on the right side of the chassis. This way it is easier to manage the cables in the car. The south side up is always required. No magnets are required in front of lane changers. I plan to do a more in-depth oxigen video series in the next 3-4 weeks. If you can wait, it might help you decide and set it up. Chris

Excellent video. Thanks for posting. I had more to say in my previous comment, but I think KZbin's spam-bot hid it.

On a more serious note, does Cockpit XP provide any simulation for fuel or tyres? For instance when your car has a full tank, the top speed is lower (to simulate the extra weight). And while the fuel gets burned (and the weight reduces), then the top speed increases. By the way, if you use RCSO2 you will have both fuel (working as I described above) and tyres simulation (the more you wear the tyres, the softer the brakes becomes). The nice thing is that these simulations are controlled by how aggressively you use the throttle (not just by a fixed percentage per lap).
@slotracing.digital2 жыл бұрын
Hey that sounds super interesting! Cockpit XP does provide a lot of simulations and you can even write your own stuff (F1 Sim, DTM Sim, etc.) but most of the time fuel consumption is calculated by a static number or lap times. I would love to have throttle related fuel consumption. I'll do a video about RCSO2 as soon as I have a second car and can have some races, promised!
