Thank you Andrew. You always make more sense than all the other coaches. You seem to be able to make the golf swing more simple instead of more complicate like most others do.

Beware of the golf commercials from Peformance golf in front of his videos. You buy a product and they automatically attach a monthly subscription to your purchase and hope you don't realize it. It's in very small print at the bottom of the product order form. If a ad saids Performance golf on it...I 've learn to stay far away from that company. On a lighter note.... Andrews videos are always excellent.

Great video with good explanation as usual. I am a mid handicap, older golfer but have the opposite problem to most people with my handicap i.e. too much draw. When playing well the ball starts to the right and draws back nicely, but when its bad I have lots of hooks, fats and thins. Much of the instruction on KZbin is for slicers/faders - it would be good to see a video of yours with what you regard as some of the key issues for golfers with the opposite problem. Although this particular video had quite a lot of material not relevant to me, I still enjoyed it as it helped to deepen my understanding. Thank you.

Excellent instructions. I recommend doing this over and over. I had an over the top swing. As I started to get more from the I side my striking got worse. Very frustrating. But I kept going back to it and slowly I started to strike it well. Now it feels comfortable coming from the inside. This has taken me 2 yrs to get better. Not a quick fix. Thanks for the video.

So when you were 16 did you hit your 8 iron only 210?
@cliffwaits30327 ай бұрын
@@lifesaver3499 No...I didn't start playing golf until my mid 40's. At that time I hit my 8 iron about 135 - 140. The 150 I get today is likely because the loft of the clubs have changed dramatically. Today's 8 iron is like "yesterday's 7 iron. Make sense? Bottom line...no matter how old you are, it seems like you're always looking for a little more distance. Just glad I'm in good enough shape to play this great game!

Thx for this video Andrew! Would a good thought be that the right arm is being thrown behind you or backwards at the beginning of the downswing?
@AndrewEmeryGolf7 ай бұрын
Absolutely!! The golf swing is a slinging motion in an incline plane! Your body will react dynamically despite the “feel” of using your trail arms sooner!! Thanks for watching! Best, Coach A.🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻
@judithgill51057 ай бұрын
A lot of the golf instruction these days harps on about letting the arms in the downswing drop through gravity, not being physically dropped. Do you go along with this, Andrew, or do you advocate physically moving the arms in the downswing?
@AndrewEmeryGolf7 ай бұрын
Hi Judith! Great question - Linear Force will always out race gravity! Dropping your arms from above your head to the lowest point at your side using gravity if you’re 6ft tall with 3 ft long arms will peak at just under 14mph. Peak arm speed in golf is at approx the hands lowest point PRIOR to impact (just past P6). The longest hitter on tour is Cameron Champ whose peak arm speed I believe is closer to 26mph. That’s double the speed of gravity!! Based on those calculations I would suggest using gravity will create very little speed!! Remember the true cause of energy transfer is rapidly decelerating the arms as the club gets slung out at impact. We have to move ‘em fast earlier…… I hope that makes sense! Use linear force to rapidly work the club down as you hold your upper body back!!!! Think ‘fast arms’ as you change direction and it’ll transfer speed to the club head!! Best, A. 🏌️♂️⛳️🙏🏻

Andrew, great video. When you get to the top of your backswing, do you "pull down with the club to get in the slot, or let it drop naturally? Thanks, Steve
@AndrewEmeryGolf Жыл бұрын
You’re going to feel like you are. In reality of course it’s not close to that! The key is to STALL the spin phase with the upper body in order for your arms to work down! The reality is that you’ll be unwinding as you do this and the club will be more in front of you as a result! Thanks for watching! A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

Andrew have you done a grip video? Looks very strong from your description but never saw a face on view ? Thanks
@AndrewEmeryGolf Жыл бұрын
I can’t tell you how many golfers feel like they have a strong grip but in reality it isn’t! The key is your routine Brian. Adjust your grip based on YOUR ball flight! If you’re hooking you may have to weaken slightly. Slicing of course the opposite (3 knuckles!) My point is that the grip is the single biggest influence on the orientation of the club face! Golfers should pay more attention to it for sure! Thanks for watching! Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻

so the trunk is a force multiple too.doesn't😊 keeping your back to the target restrict that severely?
@AndrewEmeryGolf6 ай бұрын
Using the trunk at the right time is the key Matt! Most golfers transition spin out in front of their arms. Keeping your back to the target helps sequence your arms to your body as you turn through the ball. Best, Coach A. ⛳️🏌️♂️🙏🏻
